Same thought crossed me mind. I guess that is why Wanny is gone. It is really frustrating because there were a few years here when Wanny was here we had some of the BEST talent in the NFL.

Well, we still have a lot of that talent.

So let's see what great coaching can do with it!

Rex Hadnot (looks to be a worthy heir to Dwight Stephenson's throne),

Whoa! NOW I'm excited to see this kid play!

Now this is a big prediction from him :

comparing him to Dwight???? BOLD

He's played center for the Dolphins in practice three days. Now I hear he was good at center in past and feedback on that whould help TY.

LOL EDIT: Beat me to it by one min! lol

This situation reminds me of Mark Dixon's second camp with Miami. After hearing that Dixon was panicked thinking that he was about to be cut, Jimmy replied that Mark Dixon is our best guard. If we moved him to tackle, he'd be our best tackle. And if we wanted to move him to center, he'd probably be our best center too!! Again, Dixon was coming off an outstanding first season as a Dolphin.

Basically, Dixon was our best lineman. Hadnot might not be the best lineman yet. But judging from the reports, the coaches have seen "it" in him.

Seth has never been able to get a push by himself. Meanwhile, Wanny was calling Hadnot "Roadgrader" the first week of camp.

so nice it needed to be repeated! thanks for the reminder about dixon. that was something that was lost in the back of my head, but it's a good memory of that time. what a pleasant surprise dixon was. if only he could have stayed healthy... we need a knock on wood smiley for hadnot... i'm pleased with what i'm hearing about the guy.

as for the "worthy heir" to stephenson quote, i don't necessarily read that as bedard comparing hadnot to stephenson just yet. i do think he is knocking ruddy and mckinney (the "unworthy heirs?") a little bit, however.

Did'nt Hadnot have an ungodly amount of pancakes in college?
And I don't mean Aunt Jemmimah.

I hope we utilize Evans a lot better than we utilized Konrad. Granted Konrad was injured a lot, but we didn't use him like we should have.

linehan has never really utilized the FB in his offense. he had a pretty good one, too, in minnesota named kliensasser who ended up moving to TE. i have no idea what evans role will be aside from laying a lead block in short yardage situations.

Yeah, that one really woke me up. Dwight f'in Stephenson!

I would take it with a grain of salt. I mean is this guy [a reporter] even qualified to make that assessment?

Yeah he did. He was the pancake king in that conference. I think it was an "unofficial record".

Umm, excuse my stupidity (if that's possible) but what does pancake mean? :hmmm: I'm guessing its knock downs of a defender in some way but can someon please explain? :dunno:

Yep that's it.....to put the defender on the ground...preferrably on his back...completely blocked out of the play.

Hmm, thanks! Thats what I figured, but I didn't realize they even kept stats on that.

I take it 162 is relatively high for college ball (which I don't pay any attention to) but was he in a decent conference, or did he mainly flatten scrubs?

Ya know whats funny?? The players we are reading about now, were not making this much noise last year. Anyone think it has something to do with a coach that knows how get something out of what he has?? I think much of the good news is due to an organized camp with structure and a specific plan.
