Here are the power rankings from ESPN and CBS. I also added one from Walter Football, which is decent enough in it's analysis for why it ranked the Dolphins where they did and why he ranked the Jets and the Bills 30 and 32 in the league. Take these rankings as you may. They don't seem horribly out of place and ESPN continues to show they pluck their content from their assholes. Not disagreeing with their ranking of the team per se, but just their overall ability to predict anything at all, being complete ****, and lacking any credibility whatsoever except for breaking news. For reference look up the Michael Sam locker room showering article (real thing by Josina Anderson: http://www.si.com/nfl/2014/09/01/michael-sam-espn-josina-anderson-showering-report).

: can't agree with the Jets being higher than the Dolphins in any circumstance. This is a joke. Okay, I get them putting the Dolphins at 22, but the Jets anywhere above 25 is nonsensical going into week one considering their secondary is pretty much in shambles. Their analysis of the team doesn't seem to match their ranking.

After releasing Dimitri Patterson, who was signed to replace Antonio Cromartie, the only cornerbacks with at least 400 snaps last year on the roster are Dee Milliner and Kyle Wilson.

If the brand-new offensive line can keep Ryan Tannehill upright, the Dolphins' offense could be interesting. Jarvis Landry and Knowshon Moreno will join Mike Wallace, Charles Clay and Lamar Miller.

CBS:
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/powerrankings: Not much of an analysis, but it is a great point. If Tannehill breaks that stat barrier, it is probably a sign of great things to come...as long as he keeps his TD/INT ratio as disparate as possible.

19This is all about the growth of Ryan Tannehill. Can he get to 30 touchdown passes and 4,000 yards?

: This sounds like a homer analysis, so by default, I'm going to agree with it. From what everyone outside of South Florida media is talking about is how the Dolphins got wrecked on the line last year and how now Lazor is the new guy in town. Nothing about improvement. They don't make an effort to dig deeper into anything more than the same 5 teams and same 10 players. The rest of the rankings on this site are pretty bad overall, but it's always humorous to see the Jets and Bills so far down the list and him talking trash about terrific Tom.

Miami's offensive line has held up well this preseason, and Ryan Tannehill has thrived as a consequence. It also helps that Tannehill gets to work with a real offensive coordinator this year instead of the overwhelmed Mike Sherman. The Dolphins will be decent this season, and they will be in contention for a playoff spot, but they're still light years away from challenging the Patriots.

I wouldn't say "light years" away from challenging the Patriots when that team's franchise guy is trending down, and will be out of football in a few years. Who knows if Belicheat will follow, but as blasphemous as this may sound, I like Miami's long term future better than New England.

Patriots are trending down. Tom Brady's skills are diminishing and only the blind Patriot homers can't see it.

I really hope the Mankins trade is something the Pats can't overcome. He was such an essential part to that team. Sure, they added a great redzone threat, but they might have messed with their essential line stability and cohesion. Brady can't play with no line no matter who he has on offense.

I assume walterfootball is like the sports version of The Onion?

Id say thats about right.

I have a feeling we start hovering around the 10 ranking though after this week.

Ya exactly! I wouldnt say "light years".. We freakin beat em last year!

I assume walterfootball is like the sports version of The Onion?

That would be bleacher report through and through. Walterfootball isnt that much more credible though.

---------- Post added at 03:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:39 PM ----------

It's funny how that works...every big time QB in the league is usually playing behind one of the most stable offensive lines as well.

Brady likely wont miss a beat.

I would say close enough to the Onion. Just love bashing on the Jets at any chance I get :hump: I wouldn't really take anything on this site seriously except for good things about the Phins. You know, good ole homerism.

It's funny that none of the sports writers that tout the mighty Patriots ever talk about the fact that the Patriots throw out key players like trash once they're finished with them. No one ever retires a Patriot, except for Brady one day...maybe, but no mention of the lack of loyalty from the franchise to players that have put their best years into the organization...but they're all class.

hey Jr, stop quoting the OP, especially when it's a book. And the only thing around here that's like the Onion is your arm pits.

Good QBs tend to make their OLs look much better than they actual are.

And vice versa........

Nobody is going to take our challenging for the division seriously until we actually do it. Winning on the field is all that matters.

How old is Brady 33 or 34? Let's see how he takes a hit from Starks, Odrick or Vernon. I say one owie and he's done.
