Welker, Jones fined.

Jones needs to appeal that ****. What garbage. Being fined means that the league actually sat down and looked at the tape and determined that Jones intentionally meant to harm Jake Delhomme with that penalty.

i would like to see the play. if he got fined after the fact, there must be something on the tape, other than just grabing a facemask.

ive seen players completly spin a RBs helmate backwards with a face mask, and no fine.
 
What a bunch of garbage! If I remember the play correctly, didn't most of the Panthers think they called a timeout, including Delhomme. I completely disagree with the NFL's decision to fine for that facemask. Jones could have laid out Dolhomme, but he decided to try for the correct tackle. The NFL should take this into consideration.

On a side point - this is my first post - hope I'm doing fine.

i agree with muck who, i thought was on vacation , i think even the welker fine is ridiculus . somebody said earlier that the nfl must be going broke. well i think they are going broke but is it any wonder they refuse to show any dolphin games on prime time. maybe my source is right ole paul tags must really want to contract the fins because we are making too much money on account of our greatness. (sarcasum)
 
I disagree on Welker's fine. I understand the Crackback fine and/or penalty when someone is getting stood up by another player and then another player takes his legs out.

Welker went after his guy in isolation. There was nobody else involved in the play. Going low on a guy is the primary way a smaller player can be competitive to a larger player.
 
good im glad jones got fined. that play was a joke. the game wouldnt have been close if he didnt do that. on that play he had a free shot at the qb 10 yards fron anybody else and he rips the guys facemask causing them to get the ball back at their 1 and scoring a td. if he doesnt commit that penalty, they kick a fg instead of getting a td.

What are you smokin? So according to this logic every player that screws up a play should be fined. Sam should be fined 30K for his 2 unsportsmanlike penalties. Reggie Howard should be fined 15k for his unlimited amount of suckage. Was it a bad penalty? Sure it was....But it most definitely didn't warrant a fine.

I can see a fine from a team kangaroo court, but the NFL is over the line on this.

oh s***...sorry i thought saban was fining him. my bad. thats rediculous then.
 
football in general goes too far to protect QBs, I understand calling ruffing the passer a bit trigger happy but this was a accidental face mask and should not result in a fine.

college football is the same way in protecting QBs for example: last week in the Miami game the refs called the defensive TD they got back just because somebody rocked the QB but it was infact a picture perfect block, football needs to ease up on penalties like a block on the QB which is perfectly legal.
 
Now i understand the Welker fine, but Jones fine i do not. I think that it's pretty stupid judgement by the NFL to fine him. Jones needs to do something about this.
