We've been duped

If our o-line can protect and give the QB just enough time(aka keep Peppers away from the QB), then we should win that game...as long as our Defense doesn't all of sudden fall into stupid pentalies and stuff like that.

As far as the Jets go, no clue on that one man, their front line is looking beasty and could very well have a field day on our o-line. I guess everything comes down to the o-line and the QB decision making. If we can manange to put atleast 21 to 24 points on the board, our Defense should be able to hold Chad and Coles to limited plays(I say Coles because we all know he is Chad's main man and he will be the first guy Chad tries to give the ball to)....C.Martin ain't doing nothing on our d-line..may get like 50 to 60yards, but will have to do in small amounts of yards and a lot of carries.

Yeah I think we might be able to get into chad's head and cause turnovers.

The panthers scare me the most just cause of their dline. That could get really ugly really quick if we cant block

Yep. Contain their dline and expose their secondary is the way to go against them...running the ball won't do much until we make them respect the air game.

kris jenkins and brentason buckner going against seth mckinney should be amusing. Hopefully hadnot and james can help out some

I am a fan. When Gus lines up I will be cheering like crazy for him. If he does great I will be the first one one here and eating my words. That would be a pleasure because that means we are winning, and that is all I care about.

Lets see how he does.

i mean there is nothing we can do about it now , at least it looks like if gus sucks it won´t be aj that has to be the savior , its gonna be sage

Why is everyone jumping all over Saban, the booing things, and then the quarterback "conspiracy threads". Saban is doing a great job as head coach so far.

Right !!! Why not let the Saban team actually play a GAME before cussing and insulting the man ??? :fire: :yell: :fire:

I really don't care if the qb competition was a sham or not, because lets be honest here, all this "competition" accomplished was showing how stupid and sorry all our qbs really are.

This was never a QB compeitition.

It was always Gus's job. He is Linehan's buddy.

If you look at all preseason games combined, there was nothing to indicate Gus wins. In fact Gus never even scored a TD. and missed terribly on open WRs.

No doubt neither are starting caliber, but I would rather see Sage get a shot. At least he showed fire and the ability to make plays. Gus was as benign and inaffective as well...Jay Fiedler.

Gus Fiedler.

Open comment to Nick Saban:

Nick you better pull a rabbut out of your a$$ on the QB. You picked up no answer here, and you drafted no future (and there was some good young talent there). YOU have handicapped this team going into the season by failing to address the most important position, one everyone knew was a problem. Strike one.

Have`you seen anyone any better

I'm not as concerned that he didn't draft a young guy as I am that he apparently feels that what we have is also not the answer he wanted...I suppose he felt, like most of us, that Feeley would respond better and take the job...but that didn't happen...The draft is a crap shoot with QBs unless there is a stud there and you can finagle the right position in the draft to get him...but there were no apparent studs out there...The bottom line is that now we are stuck with a starter that has proven he can't do the job over his career, a 2nd stringer that couldn't beat out Ears Fiedler, and a 3rd stringer that never was...My guess is that perhaps Couch isn't quite healthy enough to bring in...he and Linehan must not be too enamored with M. Mauck or R. Davey (former LSU QBs and both available), and this time of year, there just isn't anyone now available for us...until perhaps next year.

I'm an AJ fan too, but he had his chances. He especailly had his chance last week with Saban pulling Gus early. It was AJs chance and he more then dropped the ball. I think that's what Saban is going with, the lesser of two evils. Gus won't light it up, but he'll do less to lose the game. It's a tough spot to be in, to chose, but AJ is now a 3rd stringer and I'm getting off the bandwagon because the ride is over. If a young QB comes on the market, AJ is gone, so I'm moving on. Plus, if Gus gets hurt, it's Mr Barmitzvah to the rescue!

I wanted to see AJ win the starting job. It was really the best thing that could have happened for the team's long term success. It would have meant a lower pick next year could be used on a QB to groom. At some point though you just have to cut bait. He's been given many chances to win the starting job, and just has not been able to do it. Saban is probably more disappointed than anyone with the way AJ resonded when he had the starting job right in his grasp.

:fire: I think duped is a little over the top. Beyond that Saban has definitely not set this organization back as you state. One thing we all need to remember is that you can fix all the problems in one year. Wanspeil left this team in a mess. One draft and offseason will not put Humpty back together again. The QB position will be addressed. Had the right QB (right in Saban's eyes- not ours) been available at the right pick Saban would have drafted one. I have faith that he is already looking ahead to options for the future. He is building this team and he is doing a good job of building, but it will take a little time.

I agree 100%....Some of us are so impatient it makes me sick. Saban hasn't been here not even a year and already the man is getting heat from some so called fans. Many of these problems on this team will take years to fix(yes, I said years) not one season. Contrary to what some of us may think, we are not one or two players away from competeing. Personally, I think it will get worse before it gets better, and I think we will lose some of our popular players. Some of you act like this is Burger King, well sorry, you don't get your way..... give the man a chance.

This was uncalled for. I am reporting it as a personal attack and a violation of the TOS.

I am just not a homer. Sorry guys. I like many things that have happened. I do not think starting Gus and demoting the guy who outplayed the him in three of the five games is right.

You have been reported.

Oooooh, I'm telling.

Personally I think AJ had a shot...

...but he blew it big style. Now Saban has to ask himself, not who is going to win more games for me as QB but who is going to lose me fewer games as QB. Gus' experience even as backup suggests he's that man. Could be Aj is now gonners long-term.

Yes we are going to have another poor year. But you have to support the experienced players on the squad by giving them their best shot at being competitive - can't write it off completely.

Boo hiss to AJ for not going out there and winning the competition.

:yell: All you impatient fans want to win right away. This organization will take 3 yrs to be a very good team. Just face it, we're not going to the super bowl this year. Stop hating on Saban.:yell: :fire: :fire: :fire:
agreed, the guy has yet to coach his first nfl game. neither qb is the future, gus has experience and knows linehan's system. next year we draft a qb, and snare a short term kitna-esque type. case closed.
