what are the chances that Seau pulls a Jack Del Rio?

For those of you not familiar, Jack Del Rio was signed during Zachs Rookie year, and about halfway through training camp he retires, and basically gives the starting job to Zach Thomas. I am starting to think that Jr. may be thinking the same thing with all the lingering injury problems he has had this last year. Jr. is at the point like Marino, in that he has nothing left to prove to the NFL, and while he still has some gas in the tank, I am willing to bet that he is one of those players that would rather leave on his own terms instead of being forced out.

actually, JJ named Zach the starter and that prompted Del Rio's retirement. Jack was at the end of his career, but did not want to be relegated to the bench, plus the usual lingering injuries that occur later in an athletes career. i think Jr's situation is a little different. he still has that fire to compete and he will be part of a rotation as apposed to being a backup. i could be wrong though.

I agree. I see Seau being allowed to return to the Chargers in order to retire where he started (especially since he will be wearing a Chargers uni in the HOF). If he coaches, it will be in San Diego. He is true to his roots. Gotta respect that.

I think that's the most likely scenario right there. Unless...maybe he likes Saban so much after playing here for him, that he stays on Saban's staff and works his way up. Then if/when he's ready for a Coordinator's position, he returns to SD. I could see that too.

He's got atleast one more run in him. Junior works hard every off-season and when he's in pads he's having more fun than any other guy out there. I think getting a divorce and moving to Miami has made him realize how much he loves football. I don't think he can imagine himself out of the game. I would expect him to get a coaching job when he decides to hang it up. As for where, who knows. I don't think he would go back to SD as long as Marty is there. College at USC is a possibility I would think.
