What can Brown do for us? Deliver his a$$ to camp pronto!

And why is that? Why is their pay absurd? I don't think some athletes get paid enough. Someone is paying them....how much does the owner get paid?
How much risk is he taking sitting in comfort yucking it up with his billionaire friends and pointing at their star player yelling "thats my boy!!".

Ronnie shouldn't be in no hurry. His eagerness to get into camp should match the speed of Miami giving him a fair contract for a 2nd round pick.

I assume you meant 2nd OVERALL pick....

I wish we could pay him like a 2nd round pick!

I called your response dumb...because it was and if you had read the thread, you would realize it is what it is. All you did was clip my post and respond to that...like I said, it seems like you were fishing for an argument.

I'm glad you can stand on your pedestal and lecture me on what risk is and how our economy works. You are real smart dude. Impressive maybe. I was clueless!! :rolleyes2

Again for the learning impaired..... I did read the thread.

You responded to someone saying how they think athletes are overpaid with....

If you are going to carry the flag for the argument that athletes are taken advantage of by the evil wealthy owners that don't take risks at least own up to instead of trying to wiggle out of it. I'm simply pointing out that owners take plenty of risks as well and that they are the ones that make playing a game for $$$ possible.

its wierd considering the uncertainty of draft picks these days...the higher the pick the more money for drafting certainty...but at what cost...

I agree, it almost seems like a better strategy to always trade down in the draft. You get a team that drafts high for 2-3 years in a row and if those picks don't pan out it can ruin a franchise for years. Some bad first round picks that don't live up to potential would destroy a teams salary cap and their ability to go out and replace those players with FA's. Where is the teams guarantee?

ronnie wants to get paid just like the other picks

It's not Ronnie Brown's fault at all. It's just a very flawed system. Ronnie should milk it.

Sure owners take risks...hell everyone does! Everyone knows it takes money to make it.
However, I still do not think that their form of risk is as high as what an NFL QB goes through on Sundays. That is why I equate their risk of making big deals to BS.

There would be a very quick way to get him into camp, start knocking a million a day off his signing bonus every day that he isnt there. I would be willing to be he would be at camp the next day. The fact is that he can come to camp while they are still talking over his contract, but he isn't going to do that because while he is not at camp he can still use the hold out threat.

He shouldnt get the money that he is going to get until he proves that he can do something in the NFL. His first contract should be guarenteed money for a couple years, then once he proves himself he can get the lucrative contract that he wants.

A player cannot practice in training camp if he is not under contract.

If it were only that simple.

I kinda liked Sabans gruff attitude about this. "Out of respect for the guys who are here and are trying to get better(I hope this is close) I will only talk about them." He does not like it, at least that was my impression. For all those who insist "running backs pick it up fast" Sure they know how to run, but they don't know who to block and how the scemes work. If this guy was only a running back that might apply, I think there is more in mind for him than that and this hurts the whole team. For those who beleive the signings "always" happen in this order please remember it has only been for the last six years, that is lately not always.

Wow, what France and Brown are asking are serious $ I understand that he was the second overall pick, but we really dont know yet how good his going to be. Since I'am not the coach, better keep my mouth shut and let Saban decide....if Brown gets all that money, I think he become the highest paid RB, including Clinton Portis....interesting.

Why are you blaming Ronnie? It isn't his fault.

Why isn't it Ronnie's fault he's robbing the cap, isn't that exaclty the reason Saban traded Surtain. He wants more than a seasoned pro running back, that's ridiculus he's not that good. Unless there's something I don't know. But your right its not his fault he wants more money thatn he's ever seen in his life, and possibly keep Saban form signing Lance Shulters, or any other good players who could help the Phins out.
