What did we actually expect?

Best wishes to Tua on a full and complete recovery and to the important decisions he has to make.
With that said WTF has this team have to offer with Skylar at QB. What has the new DC shown us?
I'm again looking at a poorly built roster, a tough schedule and a real shot for last place in the AFC East.
The rose colored glasses are off and I don't see anything good on the horizon
Blessed to be a Miami fan.

Thanks for the mini rant

Fair enough. The problem is why didn't you come here last week after Tua was leading the league again passing yards to continue the "we shouldn't have signed Tua" argument?
Bc Jags wasn’t a big game…and in all likelihood not a good team. They were dumb enough to overpay for a QB of there own.

Why won’t you hold him accountable? He’s terrible vs good teams..and was again last night..even before the injury. Again it’s obvious he isn’t a franchise QB.

Again..I would have made him play on 5th year w an eye on FA and the draft.
I did hold him accountable, but this is where YOU can't let it go.........Tua regardless of how much you hate him is FAR from this teams biggest issue. Anyone who has any football IQ would know that.......but keep on pushing that I was right mantra as though Tua has been our biggest issue. By the way, you are absolutely wrong.

holy **** man why do you feel the need right now to come into this thread and derail it? if you don't want to discuss the topic of the thread, then don't post in it -- not that difficult of a concept

there's a tua thread on the main, you wanna dance on his grave and take your victory lap, go do it there.

piss off

There it is again….I don’t hate him. I just knew he wasn’t a franchise QB. Most have been starved for a franchise QB for so long they take an ill informed leap of faith…despite the obvious staring them in the face.

Tua isn’t the issue? How about 3 pics…before he was invariably concussed once again.

Cut the touchy feely bs. McD rubbing off on you. This is a forum discussing the franchise.

Tua to the side, and all prayers for him......but we were getting our butts kicked before he got hurt. I know we had injuries late last year, and that gave me some hope to maybe expect something different, especially with Buffalo losing some key players during the off season. However last year, IMHO the biggest issues on the team were OL, play calling, and no legit #3 receiver.

Losing Williams and Hunt make this OL even worse. The fact that Grier came out and basically laughed at everyone questioning the OL just shows me the guy doesn't get it and never will. The play calling was the same forceful crap that doesn't work against good teams, and he was late AGAIN several times leading to wasted timeouts. McD needs to give up play calling now! I mean how many times can you run a FB dive successfully?

Lastly, the first 2 Tua ints were based largely on our 3rd receiver not running the route correctly. The last one although a bad Tua mistake was based on the fact that our OL sucks and Armstead was out again.

When you don't address problems and issues, and actually regress in some instances.......can you really expect a different outcome?

Good post OP. Couldn't agree more.

One quibble: I do think Grier addressed the lack of a legit #3 WR by signing OBJ. The reality is that he wasn't completely healthy to start the season, so we had scrubs out there last night and that led to the first two INTs.

Third INT was on Tua, sure, but also the entire left side of the line had been blown up. I'm usually a very even keel guy, but when I saw Lamm and Cotton out there, I almost went apoplectic. All I could think about was Grier laughing off, yet again, o-line concerns. You're right: he doesn't get it and he never will.

Yeah we actually looked like we regressed significantly against Buffalo any way. I had lost confidence for the season while we were playing. This gives us reason to at least blow this up and start over.

Horrible management by Grier basically doing little on the oline and bringing a bunch or small/injured WRs in. The guy is not serious about winning in the NFL. I feel like he felt last season was this huge success when it was actually much more of a failure
And doing zero to bolster the QB room knowing we had an injury prone starter.

When you resign a small time, injury prone QB to a huge contract…yeah what do you expect. Still making excuses for Tua🤦‍♂️

Tua apologists need to own up to fact that those of us who said not to extend him were right.
This is a serious question for those who share your point of view, and only you can be honest with yourselves about the answer.

Would it make all of you happier to be wrong about Tua and have him and the Dolphins be successful, or would it make you happier to be right about Miami making a mistake about signing Tua and see the team do poorly so you can say "I told you so"?

Shame on anyone whose first reaction was to think "See, I told everyone on Finheaven so". Let's have just a little dignity and respect for what's happening before we start patting ourselves on the back for something potentially terrible happening to a player on the team we supposedly love.

QB is the most important position. Our QB shrivels in big games and can't stay healthy. And we just gave him a boatload of guaranteed money. So, yes, he absolutely, unequivocally is one of the biggest issues on this team.

I hear you on OBJ, but once again he signs an injured vet. Hopefully it works out in the end.
