What did we actually expect?

Never thought I’d really miss DeShon Elliot until I saw Medicare member Poyer out there last night. Slow as **** and consistently out of position. Ugh.
On this topic of people "disappearing" (I know that's not you, but Poyer is a personal example I have), I said in the offseason that Poyer was a mistake. I watched all of the AFC East games and he was old and slow. He was banged up most of the season and his physical style of play wasn't holding up last season. He allowed over a 100 passer rating for opposing QBs when throwing at him.

People went apes**t on me about it. Literal personal insults calling me an 'idiot' and 'moron'. Am I supposed to keep posting about what a bad idea it was to people who didn't watch him and didn't have any actual data or real observations on the player?

I would've called the highlighted question ABSURD if not for a repeat of gang signs last night.

That wasn't even a hard collision & Tua initiated the blow. You can't even trust the kid to take care of himself at this point.
That's the thing, this injury wasn't unavoidable. Tua foolishly lowered his head and lead with his helmet. Not wise at all.

Tua to the side, and all prayers for him......but we were getting our butts kicked before he got hurt. I know we had injuries late last year, and that gave me some hope to maybe expect something different, especially with Buffalo losing some key players during the off season. However last year, IMHO the biggest issues on the team were OL, play calling, and no legit #3 receiver.

Losing Williams and Hunt make this OL even worse. The fact that Grier came out and basically laughed at everyone questioning the OL just shows me the guy doesn't get it and never will. The play calling was the same forceful crap that doesn't work against good teams, and he was late AGAIN several times leading to wasted timeouts. McD needs to give up play calling now! I mean how many times can you run a FB dive successfully?

Lastly, the first 2 Tua ints were based largely on our 3rd receiver not running the route correctly. The last one although a bad Tua mistake was based on the fact that our OL sucks and Armstead was out again.

When you don't address problems and issues, and actually regress in some instances.......can you really expect a different outcome?

Can't remember if I posted this here or not, but I HATE for Miami to have a game with a good opponent after winning an emotionally exhausting game - particularly on a short week. Conversely, I love it when Miami faces an opponent coming off an emotionally exhausting win.

Yeah those finger motions are awful to see. I have seen at least 30+ concussions front row coaching ice hockey for 20 years with my son, I can't recall any of them being being that drastic, usually they snore. LOL. It's just sad.

Tua is a great guy and a talented QB.........but he needs to look after his long term health and enjoy his young family.

As sad as this is for him and would be a major blow for the organisation I think he needs to look after his health and retire.

I'd hate to watch football just waiting for the hit that medically retires him!

Just so sad

Liam Eichenburg and Robert Jones at guard.

As bad as these 2 are playing blaming the state of the franchise on those 2 makes no sense

Having 75mil and 3 recent do invested in wr only to be stuck on claiming a guy on waivers is a joke

Why won’t you hold him accountable? He’s terrible vs good teams..and was again last night..even before the injury. Again it’s obvious he isn’t a franchise QB.

Again..I would have made him play on 5th year w an eye on FA and the draft.
Nonsense
There it is again….I don’t hate him. I just knew he wasn’t a franchise QB. Most have been starved for a franchise QB for so long they take an ill informed leap of faith…despite the obvious staring them in the face.

Tua isn’t the issue? How about 3 pics…before he was invariably concussed once again.
Nonsense

If your objection was simply the potential for injury, then congrats, you were correct. His play? You could not be more wrong. The idea that a guy who has been top 5 in nearly every passing stat for two years is not a franchise QB is laughable.

He has done more behind a terrible OL than 99.9% of QBs.

Agreed but they are here due to our consistent neglect of the interior OL.......due to throwing cash at skill position players.

It's all the same mismanagement by the leadership team including McDaniel and Grier.

Its a.systemic failure

And this right here is why this forum is becoming a waste of time. Posts get derailed right out the gate, even though it was clearly stated with Tua aside. Yet it's still about Tua, I'm sick of having to filter through the people that have an agenda high jacking threads. I don't have the time nor the energy. When a thread is posted it needs to stay on point.

Dude…your take is a joke. 3 interceptions in yet another big game collapse and you still defend. Laughable.

As one of the posters who faced criticism and insults for demanding we fix the Oline, you'd think, I'd take comfort in knowing everyone has finally woke up to reality.

But I don't. I ****ing hate this!

Agreed, me too.

Agreed. People can question Tuas injury prone status. But not his talent. He was consistently a top QB statistically and metrics wise.

If healthy he was better then Herbert and just as good as Burrow. If not better.

Something to consider.

After signing big contracts, that whole draft class suffered big injuries. Burrow and Herbert. Love this season, now Tua.

Thar draft class was mad talented but can't stay healthy.

Wasn't the biggest issue, of course not! Heck and why would we expect that with the player with the highest salary on the team? He must be a real difference maker in the middle of adversity with that kind of money... there's always hope if he's in the game. We didn't feel that with Tua.

Before the injury we saw the offense stagnate numerous times and many of us were losing faith in the offense's ability to generate a spark. Tua being the highest paid player, we expect him to elevate the team around him and find ways to win. This ability wasn't evident. We faced a playoff caliber team and we saw the same sputtered offense that closed out last season. Whether we want to hate on Allen or not, he's progressing with less talent. Improvising and extending plays. Well worth the contract he has!
Once again, posts like this are missing the point. Money is absolutely inconsequential in what is going on. NO QB IN THIS LEAGUE can over come what has been presented. We did not fix the issues that plagued this team last year and actually got worse in some areas. For anyone to suggest that X player got paid this much and should be able to will teams to a win despite inexcusable lack of attention to glaring team needs is a sad F-ing joke. Sorry, but learn the game!

Three picks? Question: Is Tua supposed to catch the ball and run the route for his receivers?
