Your misery isn’t over, but Miami Dolphins fans don’t have much to complain about these days. You’ve got your first-round drafted quarterback in Ryan Tannehill, who has everything he needs to be a productive west coast quarterback skill wise. And Tannehill already knows Mike Sherman’s offense from their time together at Texas A&M.All this rookie quarterback needs in my opinion is a little slow cooking, and patience from the fan base. You’ve got Cameron Wake signed to a multi-year deal, which keeps the elite pass rusher with the franchise through the 2016 season. The draft was a relative success, filling most of the team’s needs and some….except for a pulling guard and receiver, and I’m not sure this coaching staff can’t make it work with what’s in-house.All that’s lingering out there for those grumpy Dolphins fans is to stress about Jake Long’s status as an impending free agent at the end of this season. And truthfully speaking, that’s not an issue anymore because signing Wake means the Dolphins could slap Long with the franchise tag at the end of the season, virtually guaranteeing he’s with this franchise through 2013.All is well in Dolphins land, and I address those issues during my two conversations with WQAM on Monday. One is a chat with Michael Irvin show, where we get into the impact of the new CBA on the NFL’s landscape, and talk about those Hurricanes who entered the draft early again. And the other is a conversation with Dan Sileo’s show, where we talk about the impact of signing Wake, Long’s status, and what can be done about receiver. On that link you can also find Joe Rose’s interview with Wake, who talks about his long road to the NFL, and to his recent $49 million extension.I’d also like to use this opportunity to announce my Saturday morning talk show on WQAM (560AM) has returned. I’ll be on from 9-11 a.m. talking about South Florida sports, but mostly the Dolphins and football. I know my wheelhouse. We kick the show off this Saturday morning and I hope you’ll tune in.G.G.G.
