I know this will probably never happen but why dont we trade gordon and david bowens to the eagles for a 3rd, then move holliday back to DE, cut derrius thompson and chester, that should free up enough money to sign
corey simon! that would make our d-line absoulutely sick!

I think the idea is about as good as me walking into my kitchen right now, pulling out the cutting knife, and pearing off my index finger at the second knuckle.

Should I provide a further explanation of my feelings?

well our d-tackle situation is not the greatest, holliday is a de, chester is hurt, zgonina and big boy are really old. so what do you want to do? draft a dt next year in the 1st and have to pay him just as much as simon?

It's just too many ramifications to get one player. You're getting rid of 4 players to pick up 1 that is not the difference between 6-10 and 12-4. Simon is a good player, but it's not worth all that.

also insted of saying something stupid like, i think the idea is as good as cutting off my finger, tell me why you dont want simon? i know he wants alot of money but we have some old players on the d-line! and dont tell me manny wright will step up the guy is no were near starting quality

I'd do it. Thompson has a good chance to get cut anyway. Chester will most likely never be the same, let alone be on Simon's level. And getting a first day pick at the expense of our 4th string RB and a backup end is a good deal. Doubt it will happen though.

gordon will not make this team anyway, who knows if chester will ever play and we dont need bowens with roth here, thompson will not make it either.

Simon and a 3rd for 1 player likely cut anyway, 1 player we're trying to trade anyway, 1 player that will never be the same coming back from injury, and one solid backup. Yeah thats a good deal for the fins.

man, you all must not have been teased enough in jr. high or something.

when a guy says something smart *** like this (cutting off finger) AND totally sets himself up, you have GOT TO come back with something quick like, "oh yeah?!!? well, let me tell you just what you can do with that finger!"

because I really didn't think this required a highly thought out explanation of why it is an asinine idea.

sorry, *shrug*

nolefin, the sunshine network played one of its "grid-iron classics" or whatever they call them the other night. tough game, i'm sure, for you... season finale of fsu at uf, circa 1997. fsu was undefeated and had a totally SICK defense that year. somehow uf managed to roll 500+ yards on your boys PLUS they ruined the noles' national championship bid. oh well, it's in the past. but, to my point...

travis minor had a beast of a game. like 150 + yards. damn, he was impressive. but it was really hard making the connection with the travis minor that we've all seen play for the 'fins (if you know what i mean). what gives? is it possible that travis minor might have been a 1000 yard back on another team? seems to me he really has had more to offer than he's been given the opportunity to show.

travis was great at fsu but does not have the size to be a great back in the nfl
