What do you think is going to happen to Jason Taylor?

Thank You Fin-Atic

Where does this 3-4 crap come from if anyone has watched a Nick Saban defense they know he plays a 4-3 some people just cant see the tree's in front of themselves

Jason Taylor will play DE and will play it well period!!!!!

I think he'll play out this year, rack up huge #'s now that Roth is opposite him, and for the sake of the future and being a strong draft next year, trading him for alot more than what we got for Surtain!

There are only 2 players that Miami cannot trade or get rid of. ZT and JT. They are miami. I would be very upset if they got unloaded as a phin fan.

I never thought I would have to worry about it, but I'm starting to think JT might be on his way out. With the newly installed 3-4 defence and all the D-ends that Coach Saban is picking up I'm wondering.

1. JT makes a lot of money. Unloading him would losent the salery cap Noose a little more and allow for some lower priced free adgents

2. Saban looks like a guy that really wants to put his name on this team and JT is JJ's player not his.

I don't want to see him go and I never thought you could get rid of him, but hes not quite a Marino in Miami yet.

Dude, they already got the end to replace JT. His name is Roth, duh. Its only a matter of time. Roth aint a LE. He CAN NOT play the LB in the 3-4, we will ONLY be using the 4-3. PERIOD! How many times I got to tell you all this!!!!! Roth was selected to replace JT, thats final. We have no strong side LB, period. So, therefore, we will NOT be using the 3-4. I dont care who the hell he grabs out of FA, there are no SS LB left. The only way we use the 3-4, is to trade JT for a SS LB/LE, and then Roth takes JT's spot. Im not oppsoed to that happening, but I sure hope he dont blow it, when making the trade. very few good SS LB's out there.

There has been talk about him playing linebacker. as fast as JT is I, for one, would be very excited to see him cover people as a LB.

Picking of passes for TD's:cooldude:

no but we did do that on feb6th 2005 after celebrating another sb win!!!!!!!
:roflmao:

ive never seen fans so hung up on a reg season win that didnt do jack #@#@ in terms of winning the east or playoff seedings, the steelers would of won the best record anyways if both teams were 15-1 based on head to head...

i guess since u only had 4 wins all year you need to brag alot since afterall you did upset the world champs on mon nite.....

Dude, do you even know what to look for in a 3-4? Saban uses a 3-4. Your looking at the SS LB up on the line, as he should be covering the TE, hence, why he is called a Strong Side LB. They play off the TE's movement. The TE is his primary responsibility. That is why for an O to be effective against the 3-4, you have to have motion, primarily with the TE, to discover the zone/M-to-M matchups.

You obviously have no clue......

Toughness. Both mental and physical. This defense has not played well in the playoffs nor have they faired particularly well vs. winning teams during Wannstedt's reign. You can come up with all sorts of reasons and excuses but that is the reality.

Flexibility. When the 3-4 was first mentioned in the newspapers, Taylor or his agent (depending on who you believe) responded negatively. Are the Dolphins even going to use a 3-4? I don't know but that type of reaction wouldn't sit well with any boss.

I don't believe Taylor will be traded or released any time soon. There is too much bonus money to be paid to give the Dolphins much choice.

:roflmao: great avatar!!!!!!!!!

And another thing, of course JT will play DE, because he is on the right side of the line. that is what is called a base end, primarily a pass rusher in a 3-4. Ok, schools out.....

I think alot of you may be over analysing this. Whos to say they reaally use JT as a true OLB. He could just be the blitz guy that roams around and reeks havoc on the offense. Sometimes hes down sometimes hes not sometimes on the left sometimes on the right. Who cares as long as he gets to the QB.

he doesnt want to play linebacker.

I don't think JT is headed anywhere right now. He's still on top of his game and still has the skills to be a high impact player for the team. A year or two down the road...who knows? Hopefully he'll be able to retire a Dolphin, but in this league you never know.

did this reply have anything to do with the original quote???? What is this giberish??

Taylor's not going anywhere anytime soon. Saban knows that success starts up front, and to be successful up front, you'd better have a deep DL that can rotate a lot of guys in and out. That's why we're picking up a lot of DLs this offseason, not because JT is on the way out the door.

I look for JT to play a little less this year, and be more effective. I'd look for Vonnie Holliday to replace him on some obvious rushing downs, just to help keep JT fresh.

I think Jason Taylor will have a probowl year this year using a 4-3 defenSe. Newly installed 3-4 defenSe? Where is that? Show me an article? Did Saban run a 3-4 at LSU?

I think some people confuse a 4-3 with odd fronts as a 3-4. The only difference I believe we will run on defenSe is with our Dline and CBs. I dont think we are going to play the gap anymore and we are not going to play as much man to man as we did in the past and use more zone.

JT is a top 3 pass rushing DE although he is undersized. He isnt on the decline and I know 28 teams in the NFL that would love to have him (minus the 3-4 teams in the NFL)
