What happens if this team makes the playoffs this season?

we could rename the thread...

"If i **** in one hand, and wish in the other, which one will fill up first?"
 
If they do... may be the mayas were rigth and the wolrd will end in 2012!!!

If they make the playoffs, I would be happy no matter how much I dislike the FO.

How can I say we are doomed 2-3 weeks into an offseason... a number of reasons really

quarterback... our owner,and GM both pubicly made known we need a qb to "get us over the hump".. we swang and missed on every quarterback we talked too.
we finally managed to sign a quarterback, who A.. didn't play last year, and B. didn't have a single other team interested in his services..

we trade marshall for 2 3rd round picks. than fail to even generate any interest from a WR to replace him with.. garcon, manningham, jackson.. to name a few

we watch as guys like winston and gallery, who could do us wonders on the offensive line for us go to other teams, and we stand pat on lydon murtha and sign some other dude who I still don't know what his name because i hadn't heard of him in the first place.

we cut yeremiah bell, we loose kendall langford, both of whom maybe could have garnered an additional draft pick...

we managed to sign paul soliai, after saying we'd let him walk because were switching to a base 4-3 defense, and had little need a for a 3-4 NT...

you start to get the feeling that this FO, just says **** to hear the sound of their voice...

we need a qb... we dont' get one until garrard jumps at the chance because 31 other teams know hes useless

we're switching to a 4-3, so we sign a 3-4 nose??? did they confuse themselves???

are they confused, or just liars? Both? either way, this team has no direction right now, the players have no idea what the **** is going on... why hasn't the coach talked to any of them? it's not like he's forbidden to communicate with them? the fans, the media, former players, current players... nobody knows what the **** this team has been doing lately... while nobody can predict the future... you can get a certain idea of how it's going to go...

Everything you have stated sounds fair to me. But the bottom line is that we just do know this early into the season! nobody knows! That's the beauty of this game. We have stated numerous times for the most part all NFL teams are very close talent-wise so why is it hard to believe that we aren't capable of winning a few more games next season from a team mind you that start 0-7?

They've already done that. It's only fair to lump all the threads supporting Ireland by those who are in denial and unable to think critically.

How are you supposed to argue with mentalities like this.

This garbage has been going on for YEARS....you know 365 day YEARS.......many YEARS

I find it so hard to believe that there are a few who see this criticism as if it's just happened......or happened only this offseason..........or just a QB problem................unbelievable

this once proud franchise is slowly disintegrating year after year to where we are now with little signs of anyone with a plan to turn things around........And Philbin won't be able to do it himself
 
If we make the playoffs, Coach Philbin gets the coach of the century award. I really feel sorry for Coach Philbin, being saddled with such an inept GM.

MODS with all due respect if were going to move this thread into that category then lets be fair about it and move all the far more numerious bashing threads into one super thread as well. I realize that i'm in the minority here and that perfectly fine as a matter of fact thats the way i like it. This is the side of the line i wish to be on and this is my outlook on the team
 
Ppl will still complain. They will be like " we should have tanked, we woulda got a better draft pick" guarantee it. Posters said it after we went 11 and 5
 
Where'd that thumbs down button go? I guess I can at least give this trash one star and move on.

We wouldn't be able to trade Bell with his contract #'s (too much $ for his age/production) and Langford was a FA...Hard to trade a FA and we certainly weren't going to franchise him. And who knows, we might be able to sign Bell at a reduced #.

Why the heck does it have to be the "century" did this team not start 0-7 and end up with a pretty fair record afterwards? Despite the lack of an offseason, despite the poor Qb play, despite the inconsistencies etc etc

I really don't get it. This obviously shows we have players and talent on the team and hopefully with a full off-season program with better coaching and a player here or there we can improve by a few games to get a playoff birth...

Yes Ireland and Ross were in charge throughout the Jimmy years and the Stash years and the Saban Years as well as the Cameron years. Not to mention the beginning of the Parcell years
