Include both Satele and Pouncey? Do we move one to RG? Has Satele ever played guard before. I know Satele isn't great but he's an adequate NFL lineman and I'm not sure how many others, less the tackles, are.

At worst Satele is solid depth for us. After last year I'll take serviceable backups on the OL

I like moving Pouncey to guard. At guard he has to block someone every play whereas a center is just helping every other play and the other half of the time he is just guarding the line waiting for someone to help.

Pouncey to guard would be my move since he's a better run blocker.

I fine with whatever, as long as Dallas Thomas isnt in the top 5.

Actually I was following Twitter last night and NFL Film study (Ian W.) and CK seem to believe Turner and Smith would be Superior to Thomas and Colledge especially when it came to run blocking. The still photos sure backed that up granted it was against backups. Take it for what's it's worth. On a positive note Ja'waan James was our highest rated pass blocker per PFF and this Ian W. for the last 2 weeks. Encouraging for a rook especially considering I've seen all of last years big tackles struggle at times (boy did it look like the Chiefs were missing Brandon Albert last night). James will have his struggles I'm sure but it looks like he may be an immediate upgrade to Tyson Clabo.

Completely agree - we need to be mindful that yes McCoy is one of the top DT's in the league, but the Jets and Bills have similar strengths with the interior of their DL and we absolutely must win all 4 of those games if we are to have a chance to have a shot at a play off spot.

Turner should also be more than proficient in Pass Pro, if he gets adjusted to a new pass set from LT to LG.

The silver lining here is that it appears that we have found our OTs. Albert and James look like they can protect well. We just need a stopgap at RG...

Correct me if im wrong, but I believe Satele played some guard for us his first year in the league.

No, I'm pretty sure he was exclusively a Center and as far as I know has never played Guard in the NFL at any of his stops.

I remember Sparano trying Al Johnson at Center for a couple of games but don't think Satele was in at guard.

I thought I recalled him playing some RG but maybe not

I remember him playing fairly good too.

Every week we had a different starting line. I recall one yeah under The Meatball we had like 11 or 12 different starting OL combinations. The most in the league.

If Pouncey is healthy he is playing C, that much is clear. They never entertained a position switch before, and they're not going to in a contract year.

Satele isn't a good fit for OG, so I don't see it happening. Turner still needs a lot of work 9n technique ... and I sure hope he starts developing because he is a good prospect. Smith should have made strides by now ... so I'm growing less and less hopeful for him.

To me, Dallas Thomas is the worst of the group. I've never liked the player an have yet to be surprised. After our first preseason game against Atlanta, everyone started drinking the Dallas Thomas kool-aid and I posted that he still isn't very good. He was just going against veterans who were just going through the motions.

At the moment, none of our OL are good run blockers. Every move we made I pointed out that they again chose someone who couldn't run block with the exception of Smith--who can't pass protect--and Turner the raw position convert from a small school program.

We have. Problem at RG. We will continue to have that problem.

Satele did play some guard for us. but obviously he wasn't very good at that either. lol because it didn't last long.
