What is the BEST we can do?

The most we can realistically win? I think 9 games, and we'd only do that by winning all the close games.

I'd be very pleased to finish .500 and end the season with a few wins in a row to let the guys know that the new system is working.
Ditto.

I don't hate AJ, I just see him as he is. I guess since you don't think Sage or Brock is NFL starting material, you hate them?? I have seen enough of AJ to know he is not taking us ANYWHERE. The less time we waste on him the quicker we can move on to a QB that can him us become winners.

As for last years stats, Jay had a QB rating of 67, AJ was 61. That is a pretty big jump, when you add when they played. Jays OL was no where near as good as when AJ finished up. I guess you should "stop hating Jay" back when he was a dolphin. The way Jay was treated while he was here is a big part of the reason I "hate" AJ so much. I just wished people would hold them to the same standard.

I don't ridicule jay, brock or sage like you do AJ. You have watched a quarterback for one year behind a crappy line and no offensive plan you know where he can take us? You must not have been watching football long. Im sure you would have heard of QB's that had successful, extensive careers after a bad starting season.
We also will be wasting a lot more time if it turns out that AJ isn't our future, developing a new qb. Im sorry you are such a J fielder lover. Become a jets fan if you think so much of him that you will take it out on a qb prospect we have now. I never really hated Jay fielder....I thought he was an ok, but not a starter in the league....especially for 5 seasons.
Comparing ANY qb stats from last season is dumb to begin with b/c both did so horribly, but if we did let's compare wins vs losses.....how many jay have last season?
Also your arguement that anyone that doesn't start I hate is also ridiculous. I have never said anything that would make you remotely think that.
Try holding yourself to some standard before questioning others.

When was the last time the Jets won the superbowl, or an AFC championship... Oh thats right..... before Miami's perfect season. Prediction. We'll win one before the Jets do!

Don't bring that part up right now. With Felton, May, Marvin, all going pro this is gonna be a long year for my boys in Chapel Hill. Usually I can always count on either Carolina or Miami one, being a power house. This year I may be looking to find me a bridge to jump off by Christmas. :couch:

it's going to be a fun year, we have alot of young talent and it will be fun to watch them grow. It won't be fun like last year but a different type of fun before we are national contenders again in 2 years.

we last won a SB in the '68 season(jan '69), you last won one in the '73 season(Jan. '74)- all of our SB wins were a LONG time ago. The Jets have won 2 div titles and been to the AFC Title Game in the last 7 years, Miami hasn't been to the title game since 1992.

12-4 is downright laugahble, even if things break perfect for yuo and the other 3 AFC East teams are ravagewd w/ injuries you will not win 12 games.

The ceiling I would say is 8 maybe 9 games. Looking at your sched:

Denver is a bit overrated but will still be tough for you, you aren't winning in Week 2, Carolina is very difficult, at Buf is a loss, at TB will be a good game, KC will be very tough, at NO will be tough, Atl will be very tough, you will no beat NE, at Cle is winnable, at oak will be difficult, Buf at home will be difficult, at SD is difficult, The Jets at home will be very difficult, and NE again will be a loss. Best case is probably 8, you'll probably be in the 5-8 range.

We are playing the Jets in week 2, so Miami not winning in week 2 is wrong.

In week 2 you will probably have Fiedler at QB, and your Jets will be going against a much better defense then did last year. They will be playing a Dolphin's team closer to the one they saw before last year (The team that dominated them), then the gutted version they saw last year, so try not to delude yourself, the hurt will be less if the outcome is not what you think.

I had no idea what to expext of your sched, that is tough. You will be lucky to win 7 games, I think ou'll get better as the season goes on and probably win 6 games and gain some momentum for the offseason and be legit playoff contendeers in 2006.

We will sweep the Jets, split with the the Bills and pats (That is 4 games there), we will also beat the Broncos, Saints, Browns, Titans, Raiders, and maybe Panthers (that is 10 wins), on top of that, if this team gels, and gets into a grove, they might win games against the Chiefs and Falcons (12 wins).

"Dominated them"? You beat us in a close game in Week 2 w/o Chad and you barely beat us(you beat us on 2 blown calls) in Week 17. Domination is what we did to you on mon Night not close games like you beat us in '03. domination is also winning 11 of 14 in the series.

i give up, you guys are going undefeated and winning the SB. How could I doubt this team that was 4-12 last year and hasn't been to the playoffs since 2001

Miami has been in the playoffs more then the Jets, has been in the championship more times the the Jets, been in the Superbowl more times then the Jets. Miami has been more successful, that's the bottomline, not who was last in the playoffs, or championship.

I'm not talking ancient history I'm talking about recent history and going forward. You haven't been in the Championship game since 1992 while our last apperance was 1998, you haven't been close to the Title Game since 1994 while we were damn clsoe last year, we have 2 div title since '97 while you have 1, we have been to the playoffs 3 of the last 4 years while you haven't been since 2001. the 70s and 80s are irrelevant now.

Dominated in the sense that we were consistantly beating your team for a while, just like before that, your team was beating Miami for a longer stretch.

Not undefeated, 9-10 wins....with a remote chance of maybe 12 at the most, and ahead of the Jets. Your biggest two reasons for your success were on offense, Pennington and Martin. Even though I will never doubt Martin, I also do not see him having that type of year again, and Pennington is not going to make it IMO, which will make your team very beatable...Like Miami was when we lost Ricky, and your team was when they started without Chad a few years ago. :D

Last year is as much history as 10 years ago, either it happened already (History), or it is yet to happen (Now/future). If you want to play the game of who last did what? Miami was in a superbowl (what matters in football) in 1984, the Jets 15 years before that in 1969.

Anything earlier than last year is irrelevant now, and even last year is only slightly relevant. If you are going to talk history, then all history is applicable. You can't just pick out periods in which your team did well and forget about the periods in which they sukked. If you are going to talk "now", then no history is applicable. The Phins are a different team than they were last year. So are the Jets, though they havent made as many changes (granted, they didnt need as many).

How so?? Jay had a higher QB rating than AJ, and played behind the OLine early in the season before they started to come together. You have to remember you can't add all the TDs AJ threw to the other team as TDs. Just b/c someone got 6 pts doesn't mean he should get credit for it as a dolphin TD.

Higher QB rating doesn't mean much. Especially since Fiedler had a lower completion percentage.

You didn't consistently beat us for a while, you beat us in 2 close games i 2003 but other than that we have won 11 of 12 against you.

Curtis is bound to take a take step back but he'll still be productive and a healthy Chad w/ more weapons and a real OC makes this O very dangerous not to mention we have excellent STs and a top 5 D.

I proved my point, I showed your post and what you said then i proved you wrong as usual. Stay in denial all you want but the facts are there. You are only fooling yourself.

Actually it's for you Miami=great and everyone else sucks. I am realistic w/ y team and w/ your team. I never said the dolphins would be 4-12 again, i said they'd be better but not a playoff team. Do i have to fall prey to the nonsenical predictions and predict 12-4 and an AFC East Title? I predicted the Jets to win 10 games, is that out of the question? Don't make yourslef look any sillier than you already have. We know why you reported the post and we know why you tried to log in under my username to have me frozen out.

Excuse me....you are the one that has posted completely out of your *** on the many occasions.

I have never predicted that we would be a playoff team this year....I just posted what I thought was teh BEST we can do...which is the ceiling....and it was not out of the question as you can see what other teams have done after bad years...(Carolina, San Diego)

Like I said....I reported your post because it was worth reporting. You were the child that resorted to name calling.

All I can say is that you are the typical Jets Fan.......congratulations.

I have read every one of your posts in this thread. I must ask you one burning question. How did you become a Jets fan?? On the surface you seem like a level headed guy that has the ability to think, and give a mostly unbiased opinion. You have also dogged sec126 in every point of you guys ongoing argument (not that, that in itself is a great accomplishment). You have answered all the blind homers on here with respect, and insightful replies. So I again must ask, how is it a decent, intelligent person would ever be swayed and blinded into being possessed by the dark side?? ;)

GIVE ME A BARF BAG.

Dogged me?

That moonshine in North Carolina is killing too many brain cells.

Put away your NyJunc blow up doll.
