What is the difference between the Dolphins and Jets?

Biggest difference.....

M.Sanchez had 100000000000 or so interceptions dropped, while Henne throws a beautiful ball that defenses can easily catch!

The better QB will be on top this year. Sorry Sanchez.

Well this thread certainly generated a lot of intelligent football talk from our side.

From all the data collected on the difference between the Jets and Dolphins, I've learned that, despite the Jets better record, the Jets suck.

At QB, Sanchez, though overrated, is a better leader than Henne. He is more comfortable under pressure. Henne has a better arm, but Sanchez has better touch. Sanchez has also earned his teammates' respect by performing in the playoffs. Henne still has to earn that respect. That puts the two QBs in entirely different situations this coming season, no matter how close they may be in talent.

Most everything else, I consider a push. Yes you can nitpick and say they have a slightly better secondary, or a slightly better O-line, but it's pretty close. The other big difference comes from Rex, as much as I hate that foot-loving tub of grease. He makes his team BELIEVE they are the best, and instills an aggressive mindset that permeates through the defense and even the offense. That attitude is good for two wins by itself, at least. Meanwhile, Sparano's staff keeps harping on fundamentals. Example: Sparano says, "Make a sound tackle." Rex says, "Get the f-in ball."

This is a finheaven record. We have reached page two of a Jets vs Miami thread and no nyjunc yet.

Come on' man! junc you're slippin'

The main differences between the fins and jets are not between the players on the field but rather between the supporting staffs along the sidelines:

#1 The Dolphin's staff have neither the talent, nor capability, of devising innovative team play such as the sideline tripping tactics toward opposing players on kick returns. However it is said this may be the year Sparano abandons the conservative approach he is well known for.

#2 The Dolphin's staff can at times fail to connect with its enthusiastic fan base, on a deeply personal and intimate level, due to under-utilizing social media and online video networks. Our coaches can learn from the media savvy of our division rival by posting online videos exhibiting intimate affairs, such as promoting a foot fetish of the head coach's spouse for all to see. Unfortunately to the dismay of curious fans, media coverage of Dolphin staff is tightly monitored.

#3 Most importantly, along the Dolphin sideline, the cheerleaders are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay hotter. Arguably hot like wasabi in many respects.

I don't think there is a huge gap talent wise. I think it starts at the top. We have a better owner, better GM and better HC & coahcing staff. Your owner is young in this game and hopefully for you guys will learn and he'll hire the right people after he gets rid of this regime soon.

Talent wise we hit on our QB, you guys haven't taken a shot w/ a 1st rd QB.

We have more drafted stars. We get headlines for FA pickups and trades but it starts w/ the draft. The jets philosphy has been quality over quantity, parcells/Ireland like a million picks and hope a few hit.

The biggest difference going into 2011? The coaching staffs. Switch the staffs and Miami is a title contender and the Jets a playoff contender. rex and his staff are that good.

Longterm the biggest difference has been from the top down, our Gm has been doing a good job since 2006. he knows how to draft talent(thank our staff of scouts for that), he knows how to work the cap and he knows how to acquire talent via trades/FA. Mike Tannenbaum would have upgraded the dolphins QB situation this offseason if he was your GM- he would have found a way.

This may be your best post ever Junc. It all starts at the top. Ross is clueless at the operation and trusted Parcells and now Ireland. We will not grow as a good organization until either Ross sells the team or he fires Ireland and replaces him with a successful GM from a solid organization. I don't recall his name but the assistant GM from Pittsburgh is said to have a solid head on his shoulders and at some point will move up to a GM role. Coming from that organization I have little reason to doubt it.

I agree about better coaching and upper management of the Jets organization...even as annoying as the fat guy is.

To say that you guys "hit" on your QB and we missed? Dude, if you don't think Sanchez and Henne are damn near equal you need to remove the blinders. The biggest difference in the QB play is that the Jet's WRs stepped up when Sanchez needed them too (like Braylon against us late in the game). The coaches made better play calls, and your OL was definitely better too. If Henne played for NY and Sanchez played for us...we would hate Sanchez and you guys would love Henne.

Jets fans can't honestly believe Sanchez is that great...

And Jets fans doing the same about the Patriots....ahh the pecking order of the AFC East.

Except we are the best team in the div the last 2 years as we have made 2 title games, won 4 playoff games including one AT NE while the Pats haven't won a single playoff game.

Tampa Bay "hit" on a QB.. whether the jest did anything more than "reach" RTBS.

Don't just look at #s, there is a big difference btw our QBs which is why you guys are still looking for one and we are not. Sanchez has been a leader from day 1, he makes plays at big moments and elevates his play in the biggest games. Also remember he didn't have a year to learn under a vet like Chad P and he had the presure to not screw things up from day 1. Going into the last 2 years I have heard how Miami had a better OL, better RBs, better receivers yet it doesn't translate on the field- why is that? Blame the OC all you want but jet fans whine as much about our OC as you did about Henning. The bottom line is that the QB needs to execute and Sanchez keeps getting better while henne has gotten worse. Things can change but going into this year the 2 aren't very close.

So far they hit on a QB that can play w/ no pressure against a creampuff sched but fails against the top teams, we know our QB can play well against the top teams. Both guys should be good QBs in this league for a long time.
