What is wrong with Shadeur Sanders

I think his ceiling is more like a bigger more athletic Tua who has already proven he can take a pounding and stay upright. How would we feel about a consistently healthy Tua with more size and athleticism? They’re very similar passers. Accuracy, anticipation, and ball placement prowess, lacking a live arm but can still make all the throws. He’s good off script too.

I’ve always felt like Tua was his best pro comparison as a passer.

Personally, I’d have probably drafted him over Jaxson Dart….. not that I dislike Dart as a QB prospect. He’s got a lot of tools to work with (Dart) just a bit more raw, IMO.

Sanders is going to remain a fascinating story to follow. I’m very interested in seeing who pulls the trigger on him tonight. If I’m the New Orleans Saints….. I go up to 33 and get him.
I think the biggest issue with Sanders is he has only been coached by his own dad. He often plays like he thinks he is the best player on the field. He holds the ball too long and relies on his average mobility to try to play hero ball. There is a reason he took so many sacks/hits and rushed for -127 yards on over 200 attempts at Colorado.

People want to compare him to Tua, but they are no where close as prospects. If Tua had not broke his hip he would have been fighting Burrow for the #1 pick. There is a reason “tank for Tua” was a thing.

Well where do you think he goes?? Undrafted?! 😆
If he gets by Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and New Orleans again, he’s in that next group of guys. He’s not being drafted to be groomed to start, but I don’t know.

There’s a good enough chance 2 QBs are taken ahead of him at this point. I don’t know if anyone can predict where he goes, but media expectations didn’t align with reality at any point with him

Oh, I know they’re nowhere close as prospects prior to the hip injury. I’m more comparing him to NFL Tua now.

IMO, a lot of it is concern about parental interference. If a QB of his physical skills were not the child of a celebrity, he may well have been taken already. If, for example, he got drafted by the Dolphins, if Bevell tried to coach him to do something different than his father did, would he listen to Bevell without question?

Who did you want us to take at 13?
Almost definitely someone different. There's a certain segment of "fans" here who will be contrary, no matter what.
You know, none of it matters because the current team isn't going to win anything meaningful, blah blah blah. ad nuaseam, ad infinitum.

Shedeur seems like there will be a lot of baggage going wherever he goes. I look at a guy like Cam Ward and he seems to be all business. At Miami on Friday or Saturday nights, he's studying film and working on his craft, while Shedeur is writing scrappy rap songs and flexing on social media. I'm not saying Sanders can't be good, but who wants to sign up for a bunch on nonsense like that with their first round pick?
