What Makes Brown Special?

I'm all for him ...he's a Dolphin now! :rawk:

The one thing that worries me a tiny bit, since the whole draft Ronnie Brown thing started, is the lack of workload in college. He has an average of only 16 carries per game in college. Brown becomes the immediate starter, I would hope, and Linehan's offenses average @ 24-26 running plays a game. That's not a whole lot compared to other teams or Wanny ball  but it is an extra 10 carries. I hope he can handle it and all is good. If we do get Ricky back, I'd feel extremely comforatble with our RB situation.

but it just makes u wonder when u pick Brown at #2 when he wasnt even the featured back...there is a reason why Caddy williams started in front of him...you are the starting RB for a reason...just seems weird, but i hope he does great, dont get me wrong...it just makes u wonder

No, it makes YOU wonder. Which is why it is apparent you have not done your research. Are you paying attention? Have you read anything that some other very intelligent people have posted on this thread?

Leave the wondering for Galileo. Brown is the real deal.

yes and apparently you havent b/c i have mentioned this twice and wtf do i have to do with a sportscaster....its a damn opinion and is actually a quite valid one when u actually look at it

Because the guy didn't start behind the #5 pick in the draft is a bad agruement as to why he won't be a good back in the NFL..

Look beyond the obvious dude.
ya i have...all u have to do is know that he wasnt the starter and it gives u enough reason to question...u dont always have to be a homer to look it the obvious...like i said i really hope i am wrong and he becomes a great player, but until then i will question it...and they know no more than i do, so stop being bamn sheep

you doing exactly as i would expect...i didnt say he wont be a good back if u can read....you are jumping to assumptions....i just question it, b/c i can.....just tell me how someone who is the backup can be better than the starter anywhere, and gets drafted higher..its just different and weird...its so weird how u pple jump on someone if this think different than the majority..

but u have to always say that ronnie brown WAS NOT THE STARTER...and that miami did in all actuality pick a backup rb from college...i hope he turns out well but he was the backup and the excuses that he split time are lame...but i hope he turns into a good rb for us

2004 Auburn stats

Williams 239-1165/ 12tds
Brown 153- 913/ 8tds

So Caddy got 86 more carries and 252 more yards... Caddy avg. 4.9 yards a carry and Brown 6.0 yards a carry. Brown has better hands and had 34 catches for 313 yards to Caddy's 21 for 152... Some could argue that Brown should have started at Auburn in front of Caddy...

The whole backup agruement is lame... If the guy had started all 4 years like Benson people would be crying that this guy has to much tread on the tires already.

I hear you I just think alot of people have heard the guy on TV or a national media writer talk about Brown being a backup when they know nothing about what he has done at Auburn the last 4 years. Caddy was the man at Auburn before Brown and hence thats how it stayed for 4 years. If everyone was shown the stats and watched a bunch of his games, I think there opinion may change. I watched both backs kill SEC teams, but Brown is that special combination of all skills you can want in a back....

What does it matter if he is a starter or not?? Wow he didnt play the 1st play of the game. Whoopie. I'll tell you what makes him a special pick, they where talking on draft day about how John Gruden thought that Ronnie Brown had the best hands in the draft WR or RB. That is what makes him special. You know why we arnt really pressed on getting another reciever?? Because we can split Brown out of the backfield and get him matched up against a LB and tear them up. Is he the best runner?? I dont think so I think Benson was a little better runner but he is the best football player, thats why Saban said we will take the best PLAYER available.
