we wont pay him because tight ends are a dime a dozen these days

there are a lot of good tight ends, but mcmichael can be elite. how many tight ends are above him? gates, gonzales, maybe crumpler, heap, and shockey. im sure our franchise qb that we one day get will be happy to have him around.

The Dolphins shouldn't be in a problematic cap situation next year, so I would suggest that the options are likely to be sign him or let him walk. If the Dolphins aren't willing to pay him what he seeks, why would any team possibly want to trade picks for him and then pay him what he seeks? It's not like the Dolphins have Heath Miller sitting behind him on the depth chart.

It all depends on how he plays this year. The team really holds all the cards. If he plays well they can tag him. If not or if his legal troubles catch up to him, let him go.

since when does randy drop passes he was off the hook last year, however he better pick it up this season if he wants any team, to sign him to anything, hes gotta be consistant. if he playes better this year than last he is worth his price, not sure miami will be able to afford him. i like what i see in diamond. one more comment before i go, mc michael did get tossed like a rag doll on one of thoes sacks i rewound it like 10 times it was bad the dude just got under randys pads and threw him backwords to the ground, he better correct that s#@#!! quick!

Look, if he has a bad season, we sign him i say. But, sign him to a deal commensurate with his play. Which means he WON'T get the big bucks. I wouldn't mind keeping for 2-4 mill. If we do, then he still might improve and we can then redo his contract later on.

Bingo. His play this season determines his future.

I used to be big into McMike; however, recently he has really become a cement boot.............beating his wife............again..........and he couldn't even catch a cold lately...........I'm about through! This guy does play w/emotion and the way our franchise has played lately...........we do need that!

As long as he doesn't goto an AFC EAST team...............who give a CRAP!

OK here is what we do....we need a QB and we are gonna need a TE also...so we trade McMike and our 1st round pick next year to San Diego for Phillip Rivers and Antonio Gates.....Can i get a Woot Woot???

:woot: :woot:

I say we sign him to a long term contract next year, Saban will be able to get a deal done without breaking the bank.

McMike has several problems .. all of them add up to trouble .. he talks about being the teams spiritual leader and thats fine but he has always been a little too demonstrative for what he has done .. I am not into players who go nuts when they get a first down ,and yet thier team is losing!... Save that **** for wins or touchdowns .. i would say that if randy doesnt shut up and start playing football:ie.catching .. and BLOCKING,then he will defintely be gone .. he aint no shannon sharpe... and untill he helps this TEAM become better he is not a leader ..unless you want to count how many times this guy is gonna beat his wife. Sorry but he and chambers are suppose to be our "super stars"... I just dont see it that way... good players? yes .. but i have been hearing about these two as probowlers and it just isnt true. We dont need anymore vocal leaders .. we need playmakers! Maybe they will be this year but i am not holding my breath.

He will become a restricted free agent who will get offered a deal that the Fins will not be willing to match. So hes gone next year.

Hes too inconsistant to get a big multiyear contract.

Trade him and replace him with someone who will want less money and spend that money on OL. We don't need his chokes, his attitude, his arrests or his cap hit.

The problem I have with him is we will not need him as much this year because we have good receivers. Last year we did not have anything so we needed him to catch everything. I say we try and trade him.
