I believe the NFL needs someone new to win the Superbowl this season or it could become boring 2 watch..New England has done something many teams have only dreamed of doing over the last 4 years...Win 3 Championships..If New England wins another SuperBowl i could begin watching more Baskitball. Its like the Lakers of a couple years ago it became boring after the 2nd Championship..We can still watch New England now but what happends when they win again this year???We need a new Champ.....I believe the NFL is hoping someone knocks off the Pats....I dont know how much more of New England winning i can stand.....Please someone anyone beat the Pats when it matters the most. The Playoffs....

The way the NFL kissed Patriot As* on thursday night you would think they want noone but the Pats to win it all...I really had nothing against the Pats but after that display of cheek smooching I have a team to hate now....Thank you NFL.

Well it may be true that from a marketing point, that an interjection of new blood would be good, however, as a football junkie...as long as it is two good teams playing, I'm good with it...whether that be NE vs Philly again or the Bears vs the Titans or whoever....

No way ... The NFL will hit a new level if the Pats win a third straight (as much as I would hate to see it) ... That's basically like saying that the Dolphins 72 season would destroy football because of perfection ... or saying the Steelers of the 70's would ruin football ... Hell even buffalo went to the big game 4 years straight (even though they blew it every year lol ... It would get more exciting to watch because every fan around the country would want it to be THEIR team to finally knock the Pats off of the podium.

It raises the bar for the rest of the league.

You're wrong. Go watch some hoops.

Just be glad to say that you got to witness the team that all other ball clubs will be compared to for years to come.

I cant see anyone changing sports because The Patriots win another Super Bowl, especially to something stupid like Basketball. What would be nice is to see a really entertaining team like Indianapolis or Atlanta in the super bowl, rather than just the same old boring "team" gimmick the Patriots play off.

thats true. i will be ready to tell any who ask that the 49ers and Cowboys of the 90's would blow out the Pats ;)

Patriots won't win the SB this year..so don't worry. They may have won against the Raiders (who I think are average anyway), but they really didn't look very good. I just got done watching the ND game against Michigan and I really do feel they will miss Charlie Weis. The guy is pretty bad ***..especially after knocking off a 3rd ranked team.

The Colts will knock the patsies out of the playoffs this year.

probably the dumbest thing i've ever read. last year the patriots were getting no respect. they finally prove they are good and win their 3rd super bowl and now they are getting their *** kissed? <removed>

Mod Edit: Please refrain from using personal attacks. First warning.

I think the league is a little biased towards the Patriots IMO you may argue but I feel this way.

I don't think that new blood is as important in the NFL as it is in the other 3 sports. No one cares about regular season NBA or NHL. The MLB season is too long to endure if the same team wins year after year. The NFL is different. The best games of the year are usually in the regular season.
Fans love to hate a dynasty, we complain when there isn't one to hate. And in the NFL anyone can beat anyone on any given sunday. It only takes one game, sometimes one play, to take out the dynasty.
While I'd be very happy to see anyone but NE finish as SB champs this year, I don't think it matters. Nor does the NFL care.

well see the difference is......... It has happened in other sports before, but No team has EVER won 3 straight superbowl in the NFL. It would be GREAT for the NFL if the Pats were to go on to do it(Which they won't BTW......I sure as hell hope not at least lol) but you don't think the ratings would be HUGE to watch history in the making if the Pats went on to the show again??? And like the other guy said even if they won, afterwards there would be a huge excitement just to see who would be the first team to knock them off to prevent them from winning one more.

Actually, trends show that when a dynasty is present, it garners more interest. Look at the Lakers, during their run a few years back, you had more coverage, higher ratings and revenue coming in from all over. Same when the Bulls were dominant. Now, with the Spurs, Pistons, Heat, Suns an dothers most likely to trade rings back and forth over the next few years, you have lower ratings than ever before. It works the same way in football and baseball. Casual fans pay to see the dynasty teams ( Yankees, Lakers and Pats most recently ) get knocked off. Once they finally do lose, they lose interest.
