Keep Bell and work Jones into a rotation maybe 80/20.

I think the bigger concern is FS, personally and I have been saying this for a few years. Sean Smith should play FS and draft a CB.

Clemons is just bench material IMO.

Would also like to see more of Jimmy Wilson looks very promising.

4-3 Defense

LE-Mario Williams or Cliff Avril (FA)
DT-Randy Starks
DT-Jared Odrick
RE-Cameron Wake

OLB-Burrnett
MLB-Stephen Tulloch (FA)
OLB-Karlos Dansby

CB-V. Davis
FS-S. Smith
SS-Y. Bell
CB-Stephen Gilmore (Draft/2nd Round/South Carolina)

The fact that soeone voted for "Keep YB for 1 more year at $6.2 Million" is proof that Yeremiah Bell is a Finheaven frequenter.

I finally think this is the year we let go of Bell. I love him as a captain and worker, but its time we see what we have in Jones, Clemons, etc at SS. Culver played decent in limited time as well. We could really use that cap room towards OL, pass rush, etc. I read a couple articles sating that when running a 4-3 D, it is easier on the safeties as well.

IMO, a switch tho a 43 D marks the end of Bell being a Miami Dolphin

YB is a glorified linebacker at this stage in his career. That would not be a major issue if we had a TRUE free safety behind him covering the field. Reshad Jones has no business at free. Period. The main issue that we have had is that we have a bunch of safeties (both free and strong) that can't cover. I could care less how hard of a hitter they are when the league is leaning away from big hits.

My vote: Bring me a true center fielding, coverage FS.

Like you said Reshad Jones is the guy that could step in for Bell..Let him learn on the field..He is a good tackler in open field but I wonder how him and Clemons would fair when the field is split in half.. Maybe we can rework Bell's deal and he will stay?

Forget Clemons as a starter, he is a viable backup/nickel/dime back.. Promote Jones as the SS and sign Reggie Nelson to be the FS.

Not a bad looking defense, but we wont be able to afford mario williams, tulloch, and a QB unless we draft rg3, but I like that you put smith at FS , I have him on my mock defense too, mine would look like this:

DE-Melvin Ingram-draft
DT-Jared Odrick
DT-Randy Starks
DE-Cam Wake

OLB-Kevin Burnett
MLB-Stephen Tulloch-FA
OLB-Karlos Dansby

CB-Vontae Davis
FS-Sean Smith or Reggie Nelson
SS-Y. Bell
CB-Jarrett Bush-FA

Jones was playing out of position last year, he is a fierce hitter, and is more suited for SS. Clemons is not blow people over at FS because of how few TO he gets, but he is positive when he is in the lineup, as proven by how much tougher it is to throw on Miami when he is in the line up.

I really think Jones and Clemons could work well together if given the chance.

Trade him, bring in R. Nelson and move Jones to SS. Jones is playing out of position anyways.

Draft Baccari Rambo of Georgia....I want a Phin's jersey that says RAMBO on the back. :chuckle:

Georgia_logo-1.gif
Bacarri Rambo*, S, Georgia
Height: 6-0. Weight: 218.
Projected 40 Time: 4.57.
Projected Round (2012): 2.
12/31/11: Rambo has had an excellent junior season and is one of the nation's leaders in interceptions with seven. He also has 52 tackles with seven passes broken up. Rambo is a physical player with good instincts. He also has the speed to fly around the field and get in position to make plays. If Rambo stays for his senior season and plays well, he could challenge for the first round in the 2013 draft.

Ahhhh never mind...looks like Rambo is staying at Georgia. Hey mods the "edit post" function isn't working. Just FYI.

Jones is not a starter - he is not ready yet (maybe won't ever be). I agree though, time to let YB go, we need some young legs back there.

Moved Jones to SS and draft the safety out of Mcneese State.
