I'm thinking that Pouncey may get a 2 game suspension based on the Wells report, which is not a big deal. However, along with a couple of other off field issues, he is obviously not a Philbin type of guy. I'm guessing the Ross and Philbin will be telling Hickey that we need to make a trade, and move on from this mess.

Pouncey is an All Pro talent, who was the #1 C in pass blocking, while having a bad year in run blocking. IMO, he is worth a #1 draft pick in the coming draft. I do not believe we can get anyone as good or better in trade but, believe it is something we will do.

IF this happens, we will be putting together an OL kinda like an expansion team.

Opinions?

Go crazy in free agency picking up pieces around Pouncey. Then if the opportunity arises, trade Pouncey for a 3rd or greater and get a new Center in the draft.

Give him a contract extension. That's what we do with him.

Let him start serving his time now with the Feds, I figure he will be doing 10-12 yrs for something at some point in his life, let him get a jump on it now and let us move on without him....

John Clayton said he did not think Pouncey gets susp. Fwiw.

He is the starting center.

Keep him, and fine the crap out him if it continues. Nothing changes negative behavior like losing money.

Worst offensive line in the league last year, solution: trade the only guy who was any good on that line?

Honestly i could care less that he had a role, Your not gonna get the return that poucey is worth so its just a downgrade no matter what. Play hime no suspension and go play football. The only way you move on from this disaster is if you put it in the rear view mirror and keep driving forward.

Would have a hard time trading him unitl the murder trial concludes or any threat from it is eliminated IMO.

i think our hands are tied regarding Pouncey .... at least if we want to win this year ... I would let him play this year on a short leash, and do something with him next year (not sure when his contract is up).

whilst he has shown his true colors and that he is a dimwitted douche .... none-the-less, we can make positive perceptions by just making it publicly known that Pouncey has the 'eye' on him (and jettisoning Cogs and JJ) ...

that's why all of these contracts should have a character clause in them .... giving teams the ability to take back bonuses, etc ... (not just sports, but any corporation, public office, etc)

we will likely have to sign to FAs, daft 3, and sign a couple UDFAs just to get by is year - and that is with counting on Pouncey ....

He is the starting center.

That may be so but, does not matter on him being a "Philbin type of guy" with the Grand Jury, murder and drugs "suggesting" his involvement. He was not very smart in picking friends, and does have an attitude.

IF it were a different HC, it would likely be a different story.

Even if Pouncey did get suspended, it likely would just be a game or two.

The quick reaction from me to this fresh report is to trade him and get rid of all of the "problems" from the supposed harassment.

However, really thinking it through it is probably best to keep him. He is young, one of the best offensive lineman in the game and players have done far worse in this league and kept their jobs. Fine him, suspend him a game or two and put down no tolerance rules with him that this sort of behavior will never happen again.

Then again, if you can get a 1st round pick for him, you probably trade him.

Your suggesting he is at fault because his friend and ex college teammate is being convicted of murder? They do drug testing all through the nfl so im not buying the drug allegeations. And you have to have an attitude to play in the trenches. look at jon martin a soft spoken guy who couldnt handle it, bye bye. Pouncey is one of the top centers in the league and unless you get a good return (first rounder or top player) he stays

I would normally agree but, not with Philbin, and Ross backing his play. I'm thinking that Ross would like to move on from this PR nightmare, and Pouncey is a loose cannon.
