Send him to the highest bidder. If no offers are made, cut him.
u been doin drugs lately?

You cant get a 1st round pick for Pouncey. Even if all of this stuff hadnt come out. Even without the Free Hernandez hat, the drug parties, and the Wells Report, no one wouldve given us a 1st rounder for Pouncey. This is why I said we shouldve traded him for a 2nd rounder long ago.
Heck, I saw a post a couple of weeks ago suggesting we could get a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounder for Pouncey...... LMFAO. A decent QB wouldnt get that much in return.
A lot of people over value our players on FH.
If you want to get a read on Pouncey's value, just look at comparisons....................
Last year, a Pro Bowl LT going into the last season of his contract was on the market. Brandon Albert was almost traded to the Phins. KC started by asking for a 1st. The Phins balked. KC was then willing to take a 2nd rounder and the Phins almost bit, but instead were only willing to give a 3rd round pick for him.
Pouncey is a pro bowl C. Very comparable in ranking at his position to Albert. LT is more important than C however. Like Albert last season, Pouncey is entering the final year of his contract and will want a big contract after next season. Putting his value based on this as a 2nd rounder is more than fair. In fact, when you consider the Free Hernandez hat, drug parties, and Wells Report, I would suggest we would be lucky to get a 3rd in return for Pouncey. In fact, if someone offered a 3rd, I would take it and run. You can draft a starting C for a 3rd rounder, preferably one who isnt a complete moron and into hard drugs like Pouncey. Also, there are a couple of good Cs available in FA.
Worst offensive line in the league last year, solution: trade the only guy who was any good on that line?
Honestly i could care less that he had a role, Your not gonna get the return that poucey is worth so its just a downgrade no matter what. Play hime no suspension and go play football. The only way you move on from this disaster is if you put it in the rear view mirror and keep driving forward.
I think it's pretty naive to think the drug tests really catch that many guys...there's plenty of ways around them. You're telling me there's only about 4 or 5 guys a year who are taking drugs in the NFL? LOL, I'd say at least a quarter of the league does drugs. Richie's texts point clearly to Pouncey's as a spot to do drugs. Personally I'm keeping Pouncey another year and then letting him test the market, because if we want a high character team he's not a fit.

If there was a sure fire way around drug testing nobody would get caught.
yes there are ways around it but not definite. You think ricky williams would have got caught twice if there was a 100% way not to get caught? You cant say for sure a guy does drugs until you have proof is my point and there is no proof that he does drugs. I text my friends jokingly all the time, have made drug references in joke but i have never done drugs. A text doesn't change that.
That's hardly true...not every little remedy out there is common knowledge around the league. There's no all telling system, but there's definitely things out there that work for people.
I never said there was a 100% way not to get caught, I said there's ways around it. And I'm sorry the "innocent until proven guilty" argument shouldn't be the mantra of a GM. He's in the business of forecasting the future, doing detective work and determining whether to shell out a big contract. You can safely say that there is a possibility that Pouncey does drugs. They're not 15, they're not gonna joke about smoking doobies with each other. They're grown men, regardless of background the marijuana culture is massive (thank god for that). The NFL is no different. You could argue that the NFL demographic comes from backgrounds where the drug culture is also more prevalent, it's not like these guys are all of a sudden not smoking weed when they make the big time. The sooner they make it legal for athletes to cope with injuries the better.
Humor me, what % of NFL players do you think does drugs? To think that as long as they're not caught they probably not doing it is crazy. Where there's smoke there's often fire.
This is why there is no such thing as a guaranteed contract in the nfl. If you suspect him you dont guarantee anything. But to say to a good player there is talk that you may have done drugs we don't want you bye would be stupid. Anybody can go into the media and say this guy did drugs and be making the story up. Since there is a story out there everybody believes it. If you believe the media about everything your naive. Im not gonna say he does drugs and im not gonna say he doesnt do drugs because frankly i don't know the guy or know what he does in his free time. The texts could simply be that Pouncey is the druggy of the team because he is laid back and chilled out so its like he is high all the time. There may be fire where there is smoke but what about when that smoke is just steam in the distance?
Believing that Pouncey does drugs is hardly naive, I don't listen to everything the media says. I think you're reaching a lot more with it being some inside joke about how they're druggies but not actually druggies. I agree it's important to consider all the facts, I'd keep him on the team this year, I just wouldn't shell out long term. He has no incentive to take a contract with no incentives, someone will give him a contract with plenty of guaranteed money. You can make a calculated opinion based on a # of things. You can look at the guys he grew up with, you can look at the people he still associates with, you can look at the texts messages where Martin repeatedly says he's "faded" (which is high) and you can draw a conclusion based on the balance of probabilities that you know what, it sounds like these OL do some drugs together. That is not a stretch, it's not a stretch to think that him and Hernandez didn't light up together. You aren't going to be right everytime, but you're probably gonna get burned more than not if you simply take the wait and see approach.
It's plenty common, maybe the fact you haven't done any drugs at any point means you haven't been around it, but the fact of the matter is rich, early-mid 20's professional athletes are going to go out. Literally all the texts in that back and forth are about going out and partying in Miami. They're 20 something year olds with money and status in the city, you don't think there's a good chance they're doing drugs?
You didn't answer what % of people in the NFL do drugs.
I may not have done drugs but i have definitely been around guy who have and some of my best friends have. All of those things are speculations. I have been close to people and have had friends who are involved with drugs on a daily basis to make the accusation that directly involves a person needs to go along with proof not just speculation. I didnt answer because it is a meaningless question because nobody know. They haven't done a poll to get the percentage. There are definitely guy that do drugs but there are guys who dont. Honestly im not even sure why weed is banned int the nfl because it is far from performance enhancing
