What was the most disapointing loss in Dolphin history?

Are you simple or what?, the 1972 Offense had 5 hall of famers and has been on the brink of 6, the 1985 offense will probably only place 2 in the hall of fame.

You think '72 was better? They both averaged 27 PPG BUT '72 did it against a MUCH weaker sched.

No, the 1985 Dolphins were not a good running team, they were one dimensional, how could they be better than a complete offense like the 1972 Dolphins?

'72 could run better but could not pass anywhere nar the '85 team. Are you telling me Griese was a better QB than Marino?

And the fact is, if they had placed 12 teams in the playoffs in 1972 instead of 8 like they had in 1985, KC, Cinn., Detr. and NYG all would have been playoff teams, so the Dolphins would played 4 during the season.
But they didn't and the only teams w/ winning records they faced were barely over. 500. They didn't face a playoff teama nd didn't face any good teams in the reg season which made 14-0 alot easier.

Also, Minnesota was an excellent team that played in Superbowl 4 and would go on to play in Superbowl 8, 9 and 11, they were a real good team.

They were .500 that year, I don't care what they did in the past or the next year they were mediocre in 1972.

Yes they were better, they were a complete team, a complete offense.

Griese is a hall of famer, if he had to complete a pass he did, and he had one of the greatest receivers in NFL history in Paul Warfield, better than Duper or Clayton.

You are simple, if we take away the bottom 4 playoff teams from the Bears schedule how many did they play? You can't penalize the Dolphins because only 8 teams were allowed to make the playoffs in 1972, the next best 4 the Dolphins beat.

Criticize the Dolphins all you want Jets fan, in the end the Dolphins are the winningest team in professional sports since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger, while your Jets have yet to even play in a Superbowl since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger.....it must suck to be you?

You know, whenever we Dolphin fans start getting down about the recent past all we have to do is remember how much worse you Jets fans have had it and suddenly everything seems so much better.

griese is nowhere near Marino and warfield was coming to the end of the line, he ahd 29 recs that year and 3 TDs.

If we are going to dot hat then let's add 2 more games to the reg season. Those 8-6 teams could have ended 8-8 and 2 mroe chances and you may have lost. Chi also played 10-6 Wash but they missed the playoffs 4 games over .500 when the best team you played won 8 games and ws 2 over. Chi played a tougher sched, Chi dominated in the playoffs- that's 2 notches for them ahead of Miami and 1 notch for Miami being unbeaten. 2 beats 1.

Don't star w/ this, it has nothing to do w/ being a Jet fan and last I checked you haven't won a SB since 1973 and that's only 5 years after our SB and you only have 1 more and we atre contenders this year while you are not and have not been for many years.

You know, whenever we Dolphin fans start getting down about the recent past all we have to do is remember how much worse you Jets fans have had it and suddenly everything seems so much better

yeah it sucked being in the playoffs 3 of the last 4 years and it suked beating you guys 11 of 14:lol: We have been as good or better than you for nearly a decade.

No Jets fan, the FACT is we've played in 5 Superbowls since the AFL-NFL merger while you have played in...........ZERO.

The Dolphins are the winningest team in pro Sports since 1970, and your Jets have basically done nothing to hang your hat on.

The winningest team in pro sports is not Miami, it is the New York Yankees. Winning seasons are nice but Championships determine greatness and you have not experienced that since 1973 and only have 1 more title for all your "greatness".
