What was worse: Ricky's Retirement or TO's Holdout and Pouty Retreat?

It depends what exactly you mean by worse. If by "worse" you mean which is most detrimental to their team, then I'd definately say Ricky. If by "worse" you mean which displays the lowest of character, I'd say T.O. At least Ricky had some balls, T.O. has been nothing but a pansy with his decisions. Guys like him ruin sports.

Still not worse than Ricky leaving the eve of training camp

I am not arguing that. I can't really think which one is worse because they are both horrible.

Both situations are up there threatening to break off the top of the b!tch-o-meter.

They're both little *******.

Right now it is being reported that T.O. is going back to his home in Atlanta. It looks like Reid is going to suspend him for the season which means he will not get paid this year and if the Eagles want, they don't have to pay him the 9 MILL he was going to get next year. Also, the Eagles would get back 2 and a half MILL in return for this year.

I also hear this entire tiff was because TO didnt want to do autograph sessions for the fans or something.

Yeah, I don't know if Reid can do that. If so, Saban should suspend Reggie Howard so we don't have to pay his stiff @$$ :fire:

No, Ricky is worse.

Look, this is just a T.O. ploy to get out of 2-a-days and all of that training camp garbage. Come week 1, T.O. is playing. Anyone who thinks otherwise is fooling themsleves.

Ya, I should have worded it better.. I meant the latter.. I agree with both of what you said.. Ricky's was more detrimental to the team, but I think TO's situation is worse in the personal sense.

But he can get suspended and lose all his money.

Good. I hope that it's true that Reid suspended his sorry a**. It's good to see that this blew up in his face. Good for Andy Reid.
AS for your thread question: I don't think one was any worse than the other. Ricky left the team a week before training camp. Owens backed out of a contract he JUST SIGNED and has been throwing barbs at teammates and has been a huge distraction. I call it a wash.

Yes, Owens' has much worse character issues than Ricky. I know there'll be a ton of people who disagree with this, but it's true. Ricky, as strange as his behavior might appear, was just following his on path. Owens has been an absolute prick and problem his entire career. It just keeps getting worse.

TO isn't the same situation. The Eagles have done fine without him and will continue to do so. Our entire offense was built around him and it completely destroyed our season.

It did hurt us more, so to US it feels worse. But it really isn't any different. The ONLY difference is Philly more overal talent on offense and it doesn't effect them as much. The Eagles have a good line, a decent running game and an above average QB with some pretty good recievers. We lacked alot in other areas. But all things being equal, I think it's all the same.

Dont know whats worse, but T.O's attitude makes me sick to my stomach. Greedy, selfish backstabber. :shakeno:

Its a tough call for me, both were/are very detrimental to their teams, but what TO is doing just seems more mean-spirited imo.. It also might be a bigger distraction because he will still be around and continually battle in the media all year.. (Although Ricky did a bit too.. but it wasnt too often.. and it was mostly about himself, not teamates)

Anyway, I give the slight edge to TO situation being worse.
They both suck. At least Philly can get something out of TO. Ricky is worthless to any team, he doesn't have the heart to play in the NFL again.

things like these are happening too much in the pros, these players are meant to be role models to a huge fan base and children, ricky walked away from his team, whos offense was built upon him, leaving the offense no hope to succeed, t.o. is walking away from the eagles as the final peice to their puzzle, without him they are only the team to continue getting to the nfc championship and losing, last year they made it there without him but the competition to the superbowl in the nfc was laughable. both should be ashamed of themselves and deserve less money especially t.o., at least before ricky left he didnt complain about his contract. in one year, ricky's departure was more abrupt and damaging to the dolphins, but as far as looking to the future, the dolphins now have ronnie brown and look like they have a chance of becoming great instead of just good, without t.o. the eagles will play at a high level for a year or two and slowly fade into mediocrity.
