What was worse: Ricky's Retirement or TO's Holdout and Pouty Retreat?

Why would they play a half a**ed TO?
 
Ricky hurt the team more, and helped them in the long run perhaps. But he got himself in trouble for smoking, a mistake he did not want to get caught doing, then did not know how to handle. TO is acting this way on purpose. TO proved he is great in the Superbowl comeback last year. But he sure is making ******ed decisions right now.

Ricky was likely worse but TO seems worse at the moment.

Ricky's retirement is worse than TO's holdout without question. Even if TO retired right now from football, it wouldn't even come close to Ricky walking out on us. With TO, something outrageous like that is expected... with Ricky... it was a TOTAL SUPRRISE. No warning, no suspicious, nothing out of the ordinary... and than out of nowhere he retires. I don't see how you could even compare TO's holdout to Ricky's retirement...

On one level I think you're right. However, I was pretty surprised that the Eagles refused to bend when Owens started complaining about his contract again. I figured the Eagles would do something to placate him. So even though, again, I think you're right and they aren't going to take any drastic measures at this point I have to say if they did suspend him for a year, or even a few games it wouldn't surprise me. They have to be really tired of his antics.
 
I dont think Reid can "suspend" TO for the season over personal differences or for holding out. I think fines are the worst he can do for such offenses. He can, however simply make him inactive for the season. TO would still get paid but he would be basically locked out of the Eagles facilities. Just like Keyshawn was in Tampa.

It would probably have to go to abritration. There are some things in his contract.

Guess what guys!? Even if T.O. gets suspended, I'd expect to see good old Drew call up the NFLPA and appeal the suspension. Then expect to see T.O. demand a trade. I just hope Reid goes against the NFLPA's wishes and let's T.O.'s career rot on the bench (even if it costs millions a year). Let this be a sign to all the other pricks in the NFL.
 
in my eyes ricky just had a season ending injury.

which leads us to have huge upgrades in every coaching position.
