What we have/What we DON'T have

Our special teams haven't been "GREAT" in years. Maybe they weren't terrible last year but don't just throw around the word "GREAT".

Once we added Welker things improved. But for years prior to Welker arriving our special teams stunk. Especilaly in returns. And before Turk returned our punting situation was terrible.

#1 I said LAST year.
#2 Welker doesn't tackle people.

BUT, as I said...my fears look to be coming a reality. We don't have a quality QB on this team. I did say I hope someone steps up and soon. Maybe it will be AJ. Im just not banking on it.

We are through a preseason game and a half now. We can start to see a little more about this team for 2005. I will say more positives than negatives. But we have one big negative.

What we have
RB's
WR's
O-line looks much better (1st team did well tonight vs Jax)
Pass Rush looks good
Punt Returner and a good one!

What we dont' have
A friggin QB!
Same stinkin Special Teams coach


The punt return for a TD tonight was a sad reminder one of the assistants that was kept from the Wannstedt era was Armstrong! WHY OH WHY!

The Oline finally had some film to see, so the teacher can help them. They made a big improvement against a pretty good Defensive Line too.

I've never really liked Armstrong, but his ST's usually excell in defense. He better hope this was a new player experiment......

I agree on the first point. But Im not that high on Armstrong.

Trust me I wasn't either but his defensive rankings have been very good. But his formations make me wonder sometimes.

I actually still aint high on him. He can go anytime.

The one move Saban made that I questioned. Why keep Armstrong around? Oh well, Wanny is gone. Once Armstrong starts to F' up, his stay will be short with the Nicktanator. (or whatever he is called)
