That's a nice story, but nobody is suggesting that. Again, a complete failure at reading comprehension.
Zounds, you're making yourself look more foolish with each post about reading comprehension. Go back 2 pages and read or just stop.

There's nothing foolish about being able to read. Here is exactly what he said since you are too lazy to look:

THIS!!!! See this is where ya have to start. All of this "we have to change" is no good without saying who you are changing to. Change for the sake of change is a recipe for absolute failure, EVERY TIME!!!! Don't tell me you want these people gone unless you point out who you want in their place. I have never seen many teams win a super bowl without a GM or coach.

He doesn't say you cant criticize Ireland. He doesn't say you need to hold interviews for GMs. Where your friends in the peanut gallery got those ideas from KTOWN's post is beyond me.

What he does say, and what I reiterated, is that you need to consider the alternative and consequences of firing someone by looking at their replacement. Firing Ireland doesnt sound like a good idea if the alternative is someone like Randy Mueller or Rick Spielman. See the point he was making?

I believe they will both be back next year winning record or not. Ross gave Ireland the extension to correspond with Tannehills run as starter.
If Tannehill doesn't turn into winning QB by the end of next year then Philbin, Sherman and Ireland will all be shown the door at the end of next season.

But we are kind of stuck with what we have till end of 2014. JMO.

Oh, even if he goes back and re-reads the post, im sure he wont see anything wrong with his interpretation. Thats the problem with those view the worlds through a lens of preconceived notions: whatever doesnt conform to it is to be fought at any cost.

Undoubtedly this will degenerate into a pissing contest as he continues to try and twist the narrative. If that doesnt work, he will engage in Ad Hominem tactics in an effort to undercut others credibility, or simply insult you in order to provoke a reaction. Finally, when his back is against the wall, he will try and dismiss your posts as futile, irrelevant, or simply a waste of your time or everyone elses time.
Thus is the favorite ploys of the character assassin.

I stopped reading his posts ages ago, but from what i can gather by your and Harry's quotes hes trying to insist everyone else cant read. Hilarious.

Don't tell me you want these people gone unless you point out who you want in their place.

Seems pretty cut and dry to me.

What you describe is exactly what you are doing. Seems pretty hypocritical to me, but that's what Ive come to expect from you anyway. I tried to discuss the point at hand, your response is just childish.

First of all, only he knows the meaning behind his words, all of us are interpreting his meaning.

Don't tell me you want these people gone unless you point out who you want in their place.
Pretty clear that his thoughts are if you don't offer a GMs name you don't have a right to an opinion. He also emphasizes that change for the sake of change is a bad idea. One hundred percent agree. But what gets lost here is the difference between team officials and fans. Fans don't interview GMs so this assumption your making as to that being his meaning is ridiculous.

The entire exchange was based on the thought that no one should have an opinion without a solution which is absurd. We're fans, not GMs. If I want to demand a change because I am unhappy I have that right and ability. Don't ever tell me what I can and can't think or say.

I never made that assumption. That was an assumption added by your pal Spesh when he said he shouldn't have to interview a replacement. He assumed KTOWN was saying that. I thought it was ridiculous as well.

And there is a difference between demanding change and taking action. I'd still argue that before change is made, the alternative should always be considered.

So I take it you guys just want to fire Ireland as a punishment? or are you firing him in hopes to get someone better? If you chose the latter, well, that would then be considering the alternative.

Win the next two and I believe Miami wins the division and Ireland stays. That being said, start packing Jeff.

Obviously the goal when firing someone is to upgrade the position. But the analogy that Harry and Spesh made was right in line with my original response to your buddy (how dumb is it to say that) that if Peterson was making a list of candidates that means that a decision for change was made and the normal progression is to make that decision then determine which direction to go for the solution.

A shame that KTown isn't here to speak for himself.

10-6 season and Ireland is safe along with Philbin
9-7 season Irelands job is on the rocks and Philbin is oK
8-8 season and Ireland should be gone and Philbin will stick but his job is in jeapody the next year for sure
7-9 Ireland will be gone Philbin will still be here to start next years season but he better be looking over his shoulder becasue Ross will be.

A new GM would want his own Head Coach. If Ireland is fired, Philbin is likely gone as well.

Three weeks ago Philbin was rivaling Shula as the best coach in Dolphin history. Now he sucks. I've had my issues with Ireland, but I can't stand this awful cycle of replacing coaches every two to three years. How about we hope and pray that Tannehill survives the season and see what he can do next year with hopefully a much improved line. If I were Ross I'd tell Ireland he is going to build a team through the draft and low level free agents. We are going to model our team after the Packers, Patriots and Steelers. I'd tell him I'm not concerned about wins and loses now. I want to see young players developing into superstars. So, you better find those players for me or you are going to be gone. As long as I've been a fan the fins have fallen for the instant gratification trap. I think the fans are partly to blame for that. There is no substitute for finding and developing your own talent and coaches need more than two years to do that.

Agreed, with the extension of Ireland. The 4 main players (Ireland, Philbin, Sherman and Tannehill) are all tied to each other. One goes and they all go.

Nah, I don't see Tannehill going too. I see him staying with a new coach. When the new coach installs his own type of offense, the question will be can RT run it? Remember that RT has had it very, very easy because he's been in the exact same offense since college, even with the same coach.

We'll see how things go when he's got to learn something new.

Overall, it's playoffs or bust. At least for Ireland. I think the coaching staff is a HUGE problem as well. Ross has got his hands full for sure. I suspect that he won't do much if anything....and so the misery will continue. That's OK because his bottom line will be hurting and nothing angers an uber rich person more than losing money (and stadium upgrades), so we'll eventually see the Front Office/Coaches changed sooner rather than later.
