Interesting thread for sure.
They may call it the Pro Football HOF, but unfortunately it's become the NFL Hall of Fame. The voters don't recognize statistics or accomplishments you had in other professional leagues.
If they did, Herschel Walker would already have a bust in Canton for what he did in the old USFL and in the NFL. Furthermore, many old AFL players whose excellence has long been forgotten would be in.
The HOF voting has become way too political. If Wake never gets in, it still doesn't take away from his greatness. There's a lot of great, great players that aren't in the HOF.
Believe me when I say Herschel Walker was the best running back I've ever seen in college, and one of the best I've ever seen in the pros. Anybody old enough to have watched Walker and have vivid memory of him knows as much.
Between Walker and Bo Jackson, two of the best RB's ever to play the game aren't in the Pro Football HOF for various reasons. Nobody will tell you they weren't two of the best. As long as Cameron Wake is in YOUR Hall of Fame, that's good enough in my opinion.
