What's so special about LaMichael James?

Im for anybody but DT...Just the fact that he did not produce for 3 years and was not picked up off the wire is enough for me.

Wait, you think there are *special* guys just sitting there waiting to be signed in week 3 of the season? If he was special, he'd be on someone's roster.

OK, so here's the thing about James. He's not a bright dude. It took him a couple years to get the spread figured out. Once he did he was able to use his natural athletic ability, which is very good, to become ultra productive. He went to SF and a whole new system, where it was going to take a few years to figure it out (because he's no Einstein), playing for a coach who hates rookies. So he wants out to get a shot with a different club.

IMHO you bring him in and see what he can offer. The biggest red flag is the fumbling. If you can fix that then sweet, he at least as good as Thomas and a solid return guy regardless.

Keep in mind there are guys who don't bloom until they have the right environment, like Legarret Blount, who everyone wanted to sign this year.

As opposed to someone who hasn't produced in 2 years and was not picked up off the wire? Gotcha.

That's a pretty big red flag though. I mean, understanding offenses is one thing, some people take longer to cram it in their heads than others. However, fumbles? That's a bad trait to need to get rid of.

He had an elbow injury in college that kept him out a few games. I wonder if it caused him to lose some strength, leading to increased fumbling. Or it could be an issue of technique as well.

hes better than Lamar Miller by a long shot.

Ricky had fumbling problems due to small hands I wonder if this kid has the same issue?

I think we are looking for a RB who can catch the ball and actually get YAC, since Miller is only good for dropping passes and if not, falling as soon as he catches it. Would be nice to have a D.Sproles 2.0 type player.

This board has some dreamers. Darren Sproles is nothing like James, nothing.

What a joke.

I am big James fan (homer). He is a weapon and I can't believe he is available. He isn't a fit in SF plus they are very deep at RB; but how he has not been claimed is baffling. I thought we would draft a dynamic RB this year but we didn't. DT and James are totally different; James has tools to be perfect Chip Kelly style RB which is what we have needed since draft day. He has issues with ball security and injuries but he IS A PLAYMAKER which is what we desperately need! LJ deserves another shot and yes he can return kicks.

SIGN THE GUY....like......yesterday!

DUHHH!

I don't know how James will fit in with Miami, but I do know Georgia isn't far from Florida, Gurley....I know, it doesn't fix anything this year. Dare to dream.
