What's the Goal of this season, realistically?

10 Realistic Goals for the 2012 Dolphins:

1. Establish Ryan Tannehill as the unquestioned starter at QB based upon a performance that meets or exceeds 63% completions, 3700 yards, 20 TD, 13 Int.
2. Solidify a starting offensive line that will carry over continuity into next year.
3. Finish in the top 10 for defensive yards and points allowed.
4. Complete assessment of talent at WR to allow for prioritizing in draft, if necessary.
5. Complete assessment of talent at S and CB to allow for prioritizing in draft, if necessary.
6. Be within 7 points in the fourth quarter of every game (be competative in every game).
7. Win at least 6 games at home.
8. Finish at least .500 in AFC East.
9. Finish at least .500 overall.
10. Beat JETS twice!

If Jeff Ireland gets canned, that's disastrous for Joe Philbin. Now, we need to see more from the guy, but so far I think he is the right coach for the job. I'd like to see him not fall flat on his face here.

Some people actually want this team to SUCK just so they can have a man get fired from his job? :bobdole:

Sad in so many ways. :refuse:

What's even sadder are the folks who want the Dolphins to continue to suck year after year to keep this low-life's job...

I want him gone because I believe that we will never become a great team until he is gone...that is my view of him...

 Right because it's ALL his fault we've been subpar the last 3 years. It had nothing to do with what happened on the field, players' performance, the outdated philosophies, or coaching right? Gimme a break.

Usually there are a series of goals starting with win the division. This would be a good place for us to start.

Realistically, we are having auditions for next year's team and trying to find guys that fit within the system Philbin is looking to install. It would be nice to find a couple of guys on each side of the ball that can push themselves to the brink of stardom. I think we had a couple of killer drafts and some of these guys will turn out to be great NFL players: Tannehill, Clay, Martin, R. Jones, Odrick.

The goal of this season should be to finally see the gm get fired.
Jeff Ireland has lacked of class, has been rude in several ways and surely there are arguments to say he doesn't deserve to be Dolphins' GM, but I don't want him to lose his job.
His manners could be refined and if he copies Joe Philbin style, we could have a pretty good GM for years to come.
