What's the worst referee gaffe in Miami Dolphins history?

The Steelers and Saints calls are easily 1.a. and 1.b. with me. They both boil my blood thinking about it. They were both reviewed, and with video eveidence they both still went against us in the worst way. They were both at home against teams that we were considered huge underdogs for and we had to play against the refs too.

I know, I know, we are supposed to be able to play through these types of things if we're truely a good team. But tell me a call that was that bad against one the NFL's 'sweetheart' teams over the past 10 years.

how about revis jerking marshall down by his jersey last year.

Yeah what made it worse was with 35 seconds left in the game. Marino drove them to field goal range, and Stoyo, who was very accurate from 40+ shanked it on a high snap plus there was no instant replay in 1994. I was 23 years old and I cried my eyes out that day!!!!!!

That shank was the worst moment I've had as a Dolphin fan

1977, NE at Bal. NE wins and Miami wins the division at 10-4 and goes to the playoffs. Trailing the Pats late in the game, Bert Jones misses the handoff deep in NE territory is hit and clearly fumbles, which NE recovered. The refs blew it down by contact (way before that ever existed) and give the ball to Baltimore, who then scores a TD and wins. Absolute, total BS - it was plain as day, everyone saw it, the refs choked (or worse). Miami missed the playoffs because of that.

Either fumble vs. the Steelers or the Snowplow Game

BOTH ARE TIED....I flipped my lid though during the fumble....That was the biggest screw job ever

Letting NE use the snow plow was just the most unreal thing ive seen though now that i think about it....How the hell do you let that happen haha that would be like Tiger Woods using a weed wacked to get his ball out of the rough and make it an easy shot haha

This one was ruled a TD:

Wow...just struck me that not only was I at this game, but also at the Steelers game for the Roethlisberger fumble.

Do all you older Dolfans remember the 1994 AFC Divisional playoff game at San Diego?? When NATRONE MEANS fumbled at the Dolphins 3 yard line and the ball hit the pylon. The Dolphins got the ball but it should have been spotted at the 20. The refs spotted it at the 1 yard line and the next play, BERNIE PARMALEE was tackled behind the line of scrimmage for a safety!! This was the momentum changer in that game and the Dolphins went on to blow a 22-6 lead in that game which would have set the to the AFC CHAMPIONSHIP to play a very beatable Pittsburgh team.

I had put that in the deep recesses of the "things to never talk about file" in my brain. Sigh.

I'm only old enough to remember the Pittsburgh screwjob and that horse**** PI call on Jamar Fletcher against the Pats in '02.

As a 22 year old Dolphins fan, nearly all I know is pain.

Me too. I was 10 I still remember that game like it was yesterday. Cried for a week. The Pittsburgh game call and the saints calls are 2 of the worst calls I've ever scene.

Worst call of all was not even in a Miami game...1975 Miami is 10-4, Colts are 9-4 and playing New England. Colts getting close to scoring up 27-21 around the 5 yard line. Colts fumble ball and a New England player picks up ball and runs it in for a TD that would have given New England a 28-27 win assuming extra point was good. A ref in the end zone didn't see fumble and thought play was over blowing whistle. None of the players stopped playing, but refs decided play was dead on refs whistle. Total bull**** as Colts win game and division. Miami misses playoffs completely as only one wild card team at that time and Bengals went 11-3 that year finishing second in division to Steelers at 12-2 that year.

The Steelers Game, what's worse is that the refs in the booth couldn't get it right, I wonder what would've happen if that was a 4th down play.

I was just about to post the same thing. If my memory serves me well Jones was not even hit and just dropped the ball which was picked up and would have been run back for a game clinching TD.

It turns out the Cowboys that year was also a beatable team. That was the last shot at a ring for Marino.
