This about sums it up. Upsets happen every season. Detroit beat Miami, Cleveland beat New England, Buffalo had the Ravens and Steelers in overtime. How can anyone really say that Detroit is a good team when they have won 8 games in two years and still had a worse record than Miami even after beating them. Sure they might be on a slow climb up, but they still suck. I highly doubt Detroit is going to be in the playoff race.
Though the whole point wasn't about comparing the talent level of the Lions and Dolphins. It was how even the worse teams in the league have better fan support than the Dolphins. Even when the Lions are at their worst the fans still support them and find optimism in a new year. The Dolphins can have a home playoff game and still struggle for fan support. That is the problem.
The Lions had games blacked out when they were terrible. The Lions record last year was not indicative of the caliber of their team. All the hype around them is based on the assumption that Stafford will finally stay healthy for a full season. In case you haven't noticed, whenever he's been healthy, he's looked really good. Many people also project them to have the best D-line in the league this year. And they're only going to get better going forward. They've got their QB, so they can continue to build the rest of the team around him. The Lions have a bright future and legitimate reason for hope, the Dolphins don't.
You have a very good defense, but you're wasting these years on Henne.
