When Pouncey Returns...

Pouncey is DEFINITLY in the long term plans, my man. Hickey was RAVING about this dude lol....

And despite all the nonsense surrounding "bully gate", they made him a CAPTAIN this year. Sending a clear message: They want him here long term.

I AGREE Pouncey WILL BE Resigned with a new contract ,Pouncey is one of the top teir C in the league , he is very good at run blocking , he dont just block the Nose Tackle , once he takes out the nose , pouncey then gose into the 2nd level of blocking a LB Satele has been decent BUT there are reasons we let him walk the 1st time and reasons the Colts released him , yeah i think he has gotten better , but he is nowhere the C that Pouncey is , Sorry.

I don't think pouncey is coming back, he's the definition of a knucklehead.

I've known guys like him.my whole life, they don't change until something really serious happens.

If Satele strings together a bunch of a good performances, I honestly wouldn't be opposed to trading the knucklehead. Pouncey is a great talent, but his off field antics will eventually cost us. Even though he is a great talent, for whatever reason whoever replaces him at Center seems to perform just fine, including last year. I don't know if Pouncey is tipping off plays as some have speculated, but the OL does seem to be more cohesive as a unit with others at C. If he sticks around and Satele is still playing well, maybe it would make sense to try him at G.

You guys do realize the difference here now in a zone blocking system?

Satele was definitely wrong in the Parcels/Sparano regime....but in a Denver zone blocking scheme?

Anyway...my point was if he plays well in the coming weeks...with the lack of greatness in the interior of our line...keeping Satele at center and moving Pouncey to guard might be putting our 5 best lineman on the field.

Plenty of logic here and a fair question...don't see why people are so adverse to putting the best 5 out there if Satele proves his worth in this system. Him and Colledge qualify as the weak points as far as I'm concerned, if Satele significantly out plays Colledge over the next 4 or 5 games why wouldn't it be considered? I don't think we'd move Pouncey to guard midseason mind you, but there's far stupider threads thrown up on this board on a daily basis.

how many times did Satele make the pro bowl?

How many times did Colledge? No one's saying bench Pouncey...

... is there any logic to retaining Satele at center and moving Pouncey to (left) guard? If I recall, Pouncey had some inconsistency with his snaps. Not sure if that issue was completely resolved.

IMHO Its Pounceys job when he returns , Maybe THIS will answer everybodys question about leaving Satele at C when BIG Mike comes back , enjoy http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/image...f5c6d330f0f7b8ee10c2a_original.png?1410322821

No they are saying the line is better without him. Like that makes any sense.

If my initial question requires clarification, my intention was to ask whether Albert, Pouncey, Satele, Smith and James comprises the best unit for the ZBS. Also, it appears that Turner's injury might be serious. So perhaps Pouncey at guard with Colledge as depth offers the most flexibility.

I think its definitely going to be something to consider, with that said…Im pretty sure when Pouncy comes back he will be the C. Satele played great against NE, but I want to see him keep it up..and I hope he does. However, people quickly forget Pouncy is arguably still the best O-lineman we have…Id say its really a tossup between him an Albert. The benefit of Satele playing well is that we wouldn't have to rush Pouncy, and he would give us great depth.

If we are still rushing for 175+ yards a game and getting good protection come week 4 I think this debate will get a bit more interesting.

I really look forward to Pouncy getting back though. He's a passionate guy already, and if Moreno keeps up that attitude I could definitely see that getting Pouncy to a whole new level. Im expecting big Mike to be a monster when he gets back.

Satele was miscast in Man Blocking schemes his entire career...suddenly he is playing well in a ZBS...what a shocker.

In Miami, Oakland and Indy he was a square peg in a round hole in MBS.

Give me Albert, Pouncey, Satele, Smith & James.

I like it!

It's early...he has to keep playing well... But week one he played at an all -star level.

You want your 5 best lineman on the field....Pouncey would be a great guard.....if Satele keeps it up it is a no brainer.

I always detect Pouncey haters will look for a reason to get rid of him.

REality says Pouncey will be the center. first off, he has way more experience with this offense. He can pull if needed to for a certain gameplan.

Satele has done a real admirable job coming in here and picking up this playbook and snap. Any faults found by some on here often do not take that into consideration. A guy lost after being with this team for a month in preseason? Lets not abuse the guy.

Pouncey will be the center of this OL.

and Shelly Smith is your RG. Problem solved.

and Satele has a big test in front of him this Sunday. Lets keep that in mind.

We'll see.......

According to PFF Satele was an all star center in week one....if he keeps that up the prudent move is Pouncy to guard.

I'm actually really excited to see Pouncey at Center in this offense and with this OL Coach Benton. To state that the line has played better than any time Pouncey has been here is a little misleading as he has never gotten to play with the guys we now have. Satele got blown up on at least 5 plays where Moreno or Tannehill made a play to avoid his man. Argue all you want, watch the tape. Pouncey coming back, if healthy and has listened to Benton's teaching, we could see something special on the line.

ON a side note, did any one else see how bad KC's line struggled without Albert?
