Where Are The Bills Better Than The Dolphins?

I could be wrong, but by the flow of the conversation, he meant taking out that run in addition to the other long run. What would that average be?

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense though.

Take away Vinatieri's leg and the Patriots dont win SB's.

It's just silly.

Lol I'll be honest with you guys, I don't think there's a chance in hell we have better RBs than the Bills... not a chance. Moreno might be as good as either of theirs, but Miller sure isn't.

Thanks for being honest.

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense though.

Never said it many any level of sense...was simply trying to determine how the previous poster had come up with the number he used is all.

Take away the Bills kicker and maybe they know what a Lombardi looks like...goes both ways.

Youre saying NE's is worse?

I don't think so.

NE's offensive line has become pretty crappy and they had lots of preseason issues that led to them trading Mank but I think they're about the same.
Again that's your opinion. I would say Chicago's offense of line will not match up over the year with New England's. Like I said just my opinion.

FWIW, PFF had Miami better in week #1 on O- overall, passing, run, pass block, run block, and penalty. On D- overall, run, pass rush, cover, and penalty. Buff was .3 ahead on ST's.

To break it down on opinion of the positions as to if the Bills re better.

Offense

QB- No

RB- ?

TE- No

WR- No

OL- Not sure but, leaning to No.

Defense

DL-Close call

LB- ?

Safety- ?

CB- No

Opinions on our "Nightmare?"

Offense:
QB: Miami because Manuel is still so inexperienced.
RB: Buffalo because NOT only are Spiller and Jackson better than Moreno and Miller, but Boobie Dixon and Bryce Brown might be better than Miller. Both Spiller and Jackson are threats out of the backfield as well.
TE: Miami because Buffalo's only pass catching TE is Chandler who can't block much and everybody else blocks but can't catch much. However, the fact is that the Bills don't use TEs much except as blockers.
WR: Toss up. Mike Wallace is good but Tannehill has struggled to hit him downfield. Hartline is a short yardage guy. The Bills have rookie WR Sammy Watkins, a stud-in-waiting. They also have 2nd year pro Robert Woods in the slot, veteran Mike Williams, and a young burner in Marquise Goodwin. Their best WR from seasons past, Stevie Johnson, would be shuffled back by this young bunch.
OL: I'll say toss up. I don't know about either OL because both have new people and with only 1 game, who knows? The Bills kept Manuel pretty clean on Sunday, but that might be a result of Chicago's NOT-so-great D.

Defense:
DL: Bills. 2 Pro Bowlers (Mario Williams, Kyle Williams) versus 1 (Cameron Wake)
LB: Bills. It would be a toss up but Miami's lost most of its starters for the game while the Bills add one.
CB: Toss up. Bills should get Stephon Gilmore back. McKelvin is decent and Robey is a good nickel back. Corey Graham did a credible job subbing for Gilmore last week.
S: Miami. I don't like Buffalo's safeties as a group, and that will be even more so if Aaron Williams, who is a decent safety, can't go because of a head injury. Most of them are young, so who knows?

Is the match up a "nightmare"? On paper, no, but they don't play the games on paper. They play them in stadiums. Last week the Fins played in their own house with a friendly crowd and the heat and humidity as an ally. This week your team comes to our team's house, which will be full of crazy fans honoring Ralph Wilson, rejoicing with a recently pronounced healthy Jim Kelly, and basking in the euphoria of knowing that the Bills are staying in the Buffalo area indefinitely. It's gonna be a tough place to play.

Play that game with Fins then.

You want to take two long runs away to make a point. Take the two lobgest runs away from MIA as well.

I would be happier if you could just get your backs to agree not to break any long ones on us. Not many short ones either while we're asking. If you could get that in writing before Sunday that would be a big boost to our chances. :thanks:

Sorry, just dont see how you could think in a million years that Miami's rushing attack is equal to Buffalo's.

Bills were #2 in the NFL in rushing last year and are #3 so far this year.

The Dolphins are 2 yards behind the Bills after having played a better defense.

Since the Dolphins longest run was 15 yards, the top two would be less than the Bills longest run, so clearly the Fins would end up with more yards rushing. I don't think any runs should be subtracted. They are extremely close after one week.

uh, he ran the ball for 15 yards like 4 times, and like for 10 yards another 4 times. lol whatever dude.

Regarding the defenses after 1 game. Buffalo played a Chicago team and was lit up in the secondary. They are currently ranked 26.
Miami played a top 5 offense ( and super bowl favorite by some) at home and ended up 8th in the NFL.
The offenses are nearly identical.
The biggest aspect in this game is Miami's new OC and our new attack. Buffalo better hope they can run the ball to keep our offense off the field.
If it wasn't for Miami's mistakes, we could have scored 50 against the Pats.
Quick passes negate the Bills pressure and Moreno's tough running will set up the deep ball to Clay.

Sure thing. So that's what, 191 yards down to 176? I can live with that.

Moreno never broke any long runs. He and Miller both gashed the patriots repeatedly with 5-15 yard runs.

If you subtract out the long runs, it more accurately indicates the level of dominance...just my take

If you subtract out Dixon's and Jackson's longest runs, they averaged about 3.6 yards per carry.

Using the same idea with Moreno and Miller

Moreno averaged 5.1, and Miller averaged 4.6

And the result was simply the most consistent movement/drives (minus the T/Os) that we've seen in many years.

Oh this is fun:

QB: Miami (Even with Moore)
RB: Buffalo in talent
TE: Miami
OL: Meh - we'll see
WR: Miami - no stud #1 fans love but perfect system fits

DE: Miami
DT: Toss up
LB: Prob Buffalo now - who knows what we have
CB: Miami
Safety: Toss up

Punter: Miami - fo real
Longsnapper: John Denney started walking to Buffalo this morning and got there at noon
Kicker: Ahhhhhhhhhh..... I kinda miss Carp
Return Game: Meh, toss up

So as we all know this game is simple. Can the Bills run the ball behind the line and can the Fins stop it vs can the Fins distribute the ball around vs can the Bills stop it. Nothing special - play football.
