Where do ya see the Potential in AJ??

Danny Boy also has stated many times that a cannon arm isn't important, he stresses ACCURACY as the key.
.

In the video about him, he stressed velocity and accuracy. He downplayed distance, not arm strength.

We won the game against New England and had no interceptions that a plus even if he did not look like an all pro that game. We won friggin 4 games all year 3 of which he was the QB over the last few games of the season. The kid played hurt and performed solid with the pressure that was on him. It not like Gus Frerotte is really gonna be a great upgrade so why not at least see what Feeley can do this year in preseason before we annoint the great Frerotte. Now if we had signed Brad Johnson I would lsiten to the arguement that he should play but we are talking about Gus Frerotte. Hell lets talk to the bucs about Cris Simms. Damn I wish we still had Brian Griese. But of course Brian sucks because the 4 games he played for us he was not good so he really sucks. I bet he never starts in NFL again. Whoops.

I think the team could've won with Ray Lucas at Qb against the Browns and 9ers.

people that have no confidence in feeley must have an overconfidence in Dave and the O/C from last year...

Well over the last 3 games of the year he only threw 1 pick in over 113 passes which should be a sign of some maturation plus won 2 of final three games including a win vs Super Bowl Champ New England. So if that is not potential what is is it. We were in all these games and came very close to beating Denver at Denver. Give this guy some protection with a decent line because nobody could succeed with the way the line played last year and not a decent back to take pressure off him. If people wanna go with Gus that is an opinion but Gus has never been or ever will be anything special. Somehow went to Pro Bowl with a 70 something rating. If Feeley can improve on the way he played at end of year or even just play as well as he did that has to show some potential much more than Frerotte has because its no coincidence that nobody tried to sign him as thier starter.
100% agreed a.j. will get better now that we actually have good coaching only time will tell but i think aj will be fine saban will make him better.

I expect that I would be a better QB under Saban than I would have been under Wanny, but better doesn't mean I should be a starting NFL QB.

Arm strengh is fine, but if you can't hit anything, you'll be in trouble. Basically you're telling me that you want to start a Mike Vick that can't run.

Not if he played anything like he did while he was a dolphin....

Where did I say that?

I'm not sure but I believe Lucas's states were actually better than AJ's.

Not at all, I just don't see why we have to go 4 - 12 to test another career backup.

We didn't go 4-12 because of Feeley. It was considerably more complex than that.

Agreed, but the fact that our entire QB roster consisted of career backups contributed.

it wasn't potential, after wanny resigned, bates scaled the offense back so feeley wouldn't be put in high risk situations. what did he average, 6 ypc? i could teach a monkey to throw 3 yard hitches and 5 yard slants the whole damn game.

and jlfin, what relation are you to Feeley? your posts are exactly like a former Dolphin player's dad who use to visit here and reply to his son's threads.

That's right. Dan once said, "There is no defense for a perfect pass."

I never heard anyone say, "there is no defense for a cannon arm."

Perfect example of a great arm: Mike Vick. The guy can throw it a mile - but can't hit the broad side of a barn.

Besides all that, Feeley's arm is NOT THAT strong. Just stronger than Fiedler's. That isn't saying much.

Then be fair and spread the blame around. Your earlier post suggests that it was all because of Feeley. You implied that if he starts this season, we will go 4-12 again.
