Where Does Miami Save Sacks This Year?

Clabo was owned in December against Buffalo.....he may hav played better against weaker matchups but when he lined up against a good player he looked pathetic.

Clabo vs Buff gave up 0 sacks, 0 hits, and 2 hurries. He was the only one on the OL with a positive grade. Sure you were talking about that game?

If you think Shelly is an upgrade in pass blocking to John Jerry I have to question your football IQ. If Jerry was still on the team he would start over Shelly 10 times out of 10.

You can question whatever you want, but your insistence that John Jerry is a better fit for a ZBS than Shelley Smith is just downright idiotic.

I said I don't know, and you said the same for half of the equation. How does anyone know without seeing the 3 positions play?

Because we have seen these guys play? We have seen all of the new additions to the line play football before, so don't act like our OL is a big mystery.

Besides, you were the guy last year touting Clabo as the 6th ranked best RT by PFF, while the rest of us were telling you he wasn't. And you were in J-Marts corner last offseason too, while many of us were worried.

With a new offense, different snap count,a running game so were not in obvious pass situations,a solid left tackle I expect to cut sacks to 2 a game

I agree but I thought we helped him with Mario and McKinnie was getting murdered by a blitzing safety. That game was ugly we were owned up front.

I'm not acting. To me, the 3 positions are a mystery until we see them vs NFL talent for more than a cameo appearance or not at all.

I was that guy but Clabo was at #5. His first 6 games were disasters. In the last 9, he played close to that level, giving up only 3 sack and 3 hits, with 7 games being 0"s. I guess some got their impression early, and failed to watch him play the last 9 games.

I was also in Martin's corner after seeing him go to the farm, on his own, to muscle up which he did and needed to do. I also wanted to trade for Albert and leave Martin at RT.

Not sure who Mario is but, Egnew was in 3 times to pass block and Clay 11, with RT throwing 42 times. Can't remember how many times that was to help Clabo but, our TE's pass blocked 16 times in the first Buff game, and Clabo got killed. Our TE's were pretty bad at blocking last year

BF, I was looking up some stuff, and think you were talking about the first Buff game, when Clabo was about as bad as bad can be in giving up 2 sacks, 2 hits, and 5 hurries. I have no idea what his problem was early on. I watched 2 entirely different players from the first 5 to the last 9. The Buff games were perfect examples, same team, and a day and night results. Go figure.

I saw Clabo play the 2nd half of the season last year, and while an improvement over the 1st half, he still sucked.

As for our OL this year, I don't need to see them to know they are an improvement over the worst OL we have had in the history of our franchise. Its not a mystery to me. We already know its better because it cant get worse. Anways, dont start a thread framing an argument "Where Does Miami Save Sacks This Year?" and then follow it up with a "oh well we just don't know how they will play so thread over", even after you make a 40 sack prediction which would suggest an improvement.

I thought 3 sacks and 3 hits over 9 games was hardly sucking for any OT in the NFL.

I guess you know more than me, who has to see them play vs NFL competition. I will start whatever thread I choose to, with or without your approval. I gave an opinion on what I think we can do but, do not know as I have questions on how the 3 positions will play out. That's being realistic.

"I don't need to see them to know they are an improvement." Have to think that would be hard for even Steve Wonder to do.

oh my bad, it must have been "Southbeach 3" who predicted a 40 sack season in the OP, suggesting an improvement without actually seeing them play in the NFL. What was I thinking :m359:

I tried to project on what others have done, and gave an opinion based on that. Nothing more than that, others have done the same.

We'll find out soon enough where we stand with the second game of the season
against a very good defensive front that feasted on our offensive line with 7 sacks
late last season
