I'll address all of your points down the line.
1. Maybe he hasn't written anything positive about the Fins because there really hasn't been a whole lot of positives to report on. Again, you're talking about a team with a completely unproven head coach that has no idea who it's quarterback will be. Is there some hope? Of course. There always is, but if this team wins more games than it loses this year, the entire world will be shocked.
There is a lot of positives to report on this season. The draft appears be very solid on paper and they finally took a young franchise quarterback in the 1st round to build around. They extended the contract of their best defensive player. People like you said Sparano was a big problem, well he is now gone. They hired a head coach(yes unproven, but all first time head coaches are) from a winning organization and was the architect of the Packers potent offense. No he didn't call plays on game day, but he designed the game plan. Philbin landing Mike Sherman as his OC was a home run. Richard Marshall was a solid pick up in free agency. Re-signing Solai was huge(pun intended). Bush had a breakout season last year, and is an offensive player to be very excited about in this new offense(assuming he stays healthy like he did last season).
If the Dolphins have a winning season, you and "the World" might be shocked, but I won't be. They have a new attitude, some nice additions in free agency and the draft, plus a cupcake schedule. Winning 9 games is something that definitely would not shocking.
2. ESPN came up with a stupid idea to have some of their writers project where NFL teams will be in 3 years. It makes no sense to begin with because, like you said, there is no way of knowing what teams will address what issues over the course of that time frame. That being said, these people probably projected what will happen in the future based upon what has happened in the recent past. If you do that with the Dolphins, you are going to project failure, particularly if you don't like Ryan Tannehill. (which a lot of people understandably don't)
At least we agree that ESPN's idea was stupid. Though if you are basing future rankings on past success and the current state of teams, that means nothing is ever going to change in the league. Doesn't matter if it is three years down the road or 20. That line of thinking is ridiculous.
3. Yes. Nobodies at quarterback. Matt Moore. David Garrard. Ryan Tannehill. Puke. Disgusting. Absolutely horrific. Need more adjectives? I was never a Ryan Tannehill fan, it has nothing to do with me being a downer or a negative fan. I watched a lot of Texas A&M, and had decided long before the draft that Tannehill was no better than a high 2nd round pick. The kid had a terrible showing in almost every situation that actually mattered to A&M last year. Go back and watch him against Texas. It was B-R-U-T-A-L.
Matt Moore and David Garrard are definitley not franchise quarterbacks, but they are not puke, disgusting or absolutely horrific as you put it. Moore was the 12th ranked QB last season and Garrard is just a few years removed from a Pro Bowl season. Again, not elite, but not really that bad either. Your not a fan of the Dolphins round pick? The world and I are shocked!
4. I wouldn't be surprised by anything next year. Anything could happen. At this point, the Bills probably do have a better outlook than the Fins do on paper for the next 3 years. They have a real quarterback, a couple of real offensive weapons, and some playmakers in the secondary. All things that we lack. Sorry, the truth hurts.
Are you sure you are not James Walker? You two seem to have the same misguided ideas.
They have a real quarterback? You mean Ryan Fitzpatrick? The guy that threw for 24 touchdowns, but a WHOPPING 23 interceptions last year? Led his team to a 6-10 record, with a team in your own words "have a better outlook than the Fins do". So Matt Moore in your opinion had a worse surrounding cast, but had almost twice as many touchdowns as interceptions and had a 6-6 record. Are real quarterbacks supposed to be worse than the bad quarterbacks?
The Bills do have some nice offensive weapons, I will give you that. They have Fred Jackson, who Reggie Bush outrushed. They have C.J. Spiller, who Daniel Thomas(a rookie) outrushed. They have Scott Chandler at tight end, who Anthony Fasano outperformed. They do have Steve Johnson, who the Dolphins(at this moment) don't have a player that compares to. The Bills are so much better on offense.
The Bills do have nice pieces on in the secondary, but the Dolphins have a much better overall defense.
Again, I hope that Philbin turns out to be a great coach and Tannehill proves me wrong. But personally, I'm expecting to be right, again.
Have to be right once, to be right again.
