where or when did this team loose its winning ways?

After Marino, Miami managed to get a good defense for 3 or 4 seasons. That kept them around 9, 10 and 11 wins and playoff talk. But when they went to the playoffs with Fiedler, they were never really contenders. Then after Wanny fell apart and bailed, Miami could never get the formula right. That 2008 season was a miracle. They weren't really even contenders in the playoffs that season even though they won the division. Baltimore whooped them in the wild card game.

It just hasn't been right on offense since Marino left.

It's called ignoring the most important position in all of sports since Marino retired.

No QB = Every Regime gets fired.

Simply really... ironic that we have had FIVE straight regimes that do not grasp this very concept.

I'm not the one to criticize spelling, but when did everyone forget the difference between LOSE and loOse? Everyone is doing it now.

But we lost our winning ways every year we didn't take a QB in the first round.

Firing Don Shula started it all. There's been turmoil ever since. No continuity. Bet he'd still be JoePa-ing the sideline!!

I think when Ricky retired. We made the playoffs for quite a few years after Marino left. The draft and QB choices have absolutely killed us over the last 10 years.

What we drafted John Beck………he is now the starter for the Skins. Have fun with your 1-16 Skins fans lol!!!!!!!

I always liked Beck. I think he will do a good job and quite possibly could be a good starter for them. I know this isn't a popular view, but I think he can be a starter.

The day the franchise died...January 15,2000

I think the decline started when we lost Bill Arnsparger. He always had competitive defenses. After he left, it was a carousel. Not until the last few years has the defense improved. Part of me blames Shula for that. He kept inserting his buddies that the game had passed by (or flat out didn't know how to coach). Of course I also blame JJ for the majority of decline of the franchise as a whole. All he wanted was a paycheck. Sad to say the least. I don't really see a silver lining on this dark cloud either. Its gonna be a while till we get back in the top tier. Not until we get an ownership that cares about the Miami Dolphins team/fans/history.

WOW.......Wasn’t there a report saying after the lockout ended John Beck showed up but the security guards had no clue who he was so they would not let him in. Beck will be back on the bench soon my friend book it!!!!

Shula leaving...then Marino.. was the start. However, as much as I liked watching Ricky play it was the year that he quit that pushed this team over the edge.
