... I think you can stop talking now bud :)

again, that's great that you were a great franchise in the 70s and 80s but we are in the 2010s!

Sorry Junc but in my book you are not a great franchise without a Super Bowl win. Maybe your standards are lower then mine.

That's great, congrats on your success in the 70s and 80s! now move along to this century and let me know how it's working for you?

Only 5 teams have a longer playoff win drought:

Buffalo 1999
Cincy 1990
Cle 1994(they were out of the league for a few years)
KC 1993
Det 1991

You are in select company

Playoff drought? sure. Better Overall Franchise. U bet

The Jets had the bottom line better record but the Dolphins were playing better at the end of the year and the Jets still couldn't beat them with playoff hopes on the line. Anyway they both fell short and need much improvement. The difference is the changes.

The Dolphins are getting a new coach. Ryan hasn't done enough to get fired yet but it's really not looking good. He backed into the playoffs but still hasn't won the division. The Patriots pretty much still own the division. The Jets are probably getting an even worse OC while it appears they are keeping Sanchez. What is worse than not having a franchise QB is thinking that you have one when you don't. The Dolphins are certainly not a lock to improve but there is a lot of upside especially holding the 8th or 9th pick in the draft and a new coach coming in. There is a good chance they will land a good QB. It's hard to see what will be different next year for the Jets?

Of course this could change, they could get Manning and he could be healthy and Miami could spend the 8th pick on another lineman and go with Moore and Henne but so far I like the Dolphins chances better at this point.

Giving credit where it's due, NYJ had an enviably good year last season. But putting that into perspective, before being the recipient of the Colts charity in game 15, they were 7-7 with their wins being against teams cumulatively with a sub .400 record. They might have beaten Cinci legitimately in game 16 because by that point over the last 6 games, coupled with the death of Chris Henry they were already a dead team walking, and possibly one of the weakest teams to ever make the playoffs. So at the very best, they were an 8-8 team.

This season, when everything was on the line, they finished 4-5 and realistically speaking, their 8-8 record would have been a legitimate 7-9 if not for Tony Romo.

Now as far as that farcical pre merger so-called "Superbowl" delusion of a win is concerned, when you come out of a 14 game schedule in a weak 10 team AFL and have a 2 game playoff, IMO, that's the equivalent of an NFC West type conference Championship before Harbaugh arrived in SF.

Like I've been saying ever since the arrival of Rex. Don't talk unless you can back the **** up. Over-hyping your low talent team isn't gonna get u anywhere in the long run. The jets (09-Present) are just an overrated bunch of spoiled rich brats that know nothing about class or respect (for the game).

Again, Ozzie Newsome knew what he was doing by passing on their DC and running the risk of losing him to go outside to hire a position coach for HC. Has it paid off? I believe it has in 3 years straight making the playoffs and an actual bye this season. Bracket that against the embarrassments and implosions under Fatso's watch, including his own eff yous, fingers, footsie perversion scandals, empty boasts that now fall on deaf ears and current insurrection by their highly paid captain and a bunch of others. As they say, sometimes "familiarity breeds contempt."

Rex Ryan is a good Xs and Os guy, a very good defensive coordinator. But it is evident to me right now that he just isn't a good head coach. Puts too much of hte focus on himself, has no clue how to manage his offense, can't keep his guys in line, etc.

The way everything is imploding on that team right now, I think Rex needs to get to the Super Bowl next season or he's done. And I sure don't see that team going that far.

A little less "sound of music"

i'm imagining a guy who watches football, singing "these are a few of my favorite things"

He made a mistake, it happens. No coach is perfect, BB was a failure until Brady rescued him.

Let me guess, in 2012 the dolphins will be better than us? I can add '12 to '11, '10 & '09?

It was over whether we won or lost.

You realize your 2 SBs were 38 & 39 years ago?

Still less than 43, and the jets have not made an appearance since, you think 10 years from now anybody is going to remember the Jets LOST back to back title games and say wow those Jets really dominated the divisional round in the 2010's......

again, that's great that you were a great franchise in the 70s and 80s but we are in the 2010s!

Actually, we were what you believe your team to be right now in the 70s, 80s, and 90s....but in actuality, that would be a bad disservice to the Dolphin teams of the 70s, 80s, and 90s to compare those teams to these last few Jets teams.

Only the greenest Koolaid drinking Jets fans would come here and boast about how their team backed their way into the playoffs and got to the AFC championship twice only to be put in there places, and be proud of that. And then give US Dolphins fans crap for looking into the past...no matter how long that is. The past is the past whether it's 40 years or 2 years. Quit bitching about it when we bring up the Jets sorry history if you are going to bring up two failed Jets Super Bowl attempts. Hypocrisy much?

Oh, and finishing 8-8 and two games ahead of us this past season isn't something to brag about...especially when we started out 0-7 and you were a mediocre 4-3 in that same span. Think about it....we finished stronger while you guys faded down the stretch. Nothing to write home about for as a Dolphins fan, but everything for the Jets when Rexy is guaranteeing a Super Bowl win before the season started. Seems like his BS is wearing very thin in NY, along with the Jets as a team as of late.

Hey smart***, don't forget the 90's as well....7 playoff appearances in that decade as well...heh, thats half of the times in the playoffs in one decade than your piece of crap team has in its history!!!!! But hey, there is one positive on the Jets side...looks like at least Rex did the smart thing by hiring the one coach who seemed to beat his *** more than not.....Tony Sparano!!!!! LMFAO!!!!!!!
