Which AFC East QB, iz playing the Best?

in what cue???

---------- Post added at 12:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:27 PM ----------

when I say qb situations are similar I mean that broad brush. regardless of what the tape says about tannehill there are 3 teams in the afce who do not have a clear cut franchise backed qb for the next 10 years, and the 4th has a qb situation overhaul coming arguably in the next few years.... we might believe that we do in tanne, but without sustained success throughout the rest of the season it will not matter. that is the only reason I call the situations similar.

similar in that regard...for now i guess...miami still shouldnt give up on this qb though after this year...no way...he's not gonna do anything to warrant it...i'd give him 2 years in this system easily off what i see...but i get what you are saying...

the jets need to quit on geno the bills may need to on manuel as well...those to me are locks miami is not

That's awesome and your QB has needed incredible FP to lead his O to points, my QB has not needed that.

Ryan gets the edge but let's not pretend Ryan has been good.

yet you defend the 09 Buttchez bed-crapping against SD where he completed 12 of 23 passes for a sub 60 QBR , 101 yds benefited from a kicker choking on 2 chipshots, a 53 yard td run by Shonn Green and (drumroll, here it comes), Buttchez throwing his only TD pass 2 yard, after the defense interception by Rivers set him up on the 20 and a few Shonn Green runs .. soon after his own interception gave SD the ball.

oh...ok...i watched all 4 but i deleted them...but i know what i saw...qb is killing that team...if someones got cut ups or links to his play i can break em down...i remember 6 balls against the bears he threw right at guys...in addition to some other poor decisions...

but again the tendencies of that offense are undeniable...i had em pegged in the preseason even...

i agree i think geno is really starting to raise some red flags all over that organization, and I don't think he will play himself out of that hole.

that's why an nfl team is such a complex thing. the crossover between coaches, gms, owners, and qbs is really messy. ireland gone, coach stays, qb stays, coach may be gone next year but does qb stay? just so many different decision makers coming and going does not bode well for a young developing qb.

you almost have to root for philbin long enough for tanne to solidify his position here in miami regardless of philbin's fate.

and that means what exactly? there's not a semi knowledgeable poster than thinks you know more than me about this game. I get those thumbs down b/c of childish posters that cannot deal w/ a fan of the "hated Jets" making sense. I also have strong, intelligent, opinions that I share and I actually think for myself so I don't conform to the "majority opinion" most of the time.

congrats on the less thumbs downs though!:rotfl1:

and by the way, most of those thumbs down came from one poster who gave me about 500 or more over a 24 hour period.

Just because you keep telling yourself that, does not make it true.

I saw the Lions game and the tendencies your referring to are there. Can't deny the Jets have no trust in him.

I'm pretty impressed with Tannehill's performance in this Raiders game. All the right decisions, getting the ball out quick, seeing blitz' and reacting correctly, rad option runs, pulling the ball down and running. Hopefully this carries over to the Packers.

I can't give him any excuses, he has performed w/ less in the past.

It could be Ryan playing the best through 4 games. all 4 starters in the AFC east have been playing like bottom third QBs though.
Agreed - Marino made far worse / limited talent look good - Lamar Thomas comes to mind. Mark Ingram was no superstar. Fred Barnett was playing on a cadaver's knee when he was here. Orande Gadsden - while a fan favorite - was an arena ball player. Tom doesn't get any excuses. He doesn't want to get hit anymore.

the bears game with geno pay attention to the drop lbs...there's balls too them in that game...the last drive of the game he throws a ball right to a drop lb in bostic i think it was middle of the field he dropped it ...read option on another play play action steps back fires the ball to the crossing option like we do with landry for instance balls too far inside lb is undercutting the route should have been picked...threw a ball outside basically to the corner fuller got away with it cause the ball was slightly high otherwise that's a pick...got away with all of them

he doesnt read the field pre or post snap very well and he doesnt use his eyes...lacks eye discipline...

I haven't denied anything you have said about Geno this year but he is still a young QB who we knew wasn't ready to play last year and knew it would take some time if he ever became a good QB. can't bench him yet.

Bears vs Jets:

1st drive: 1st pass pick 6. What a horrible decision and throw.

2nd drive: Vick in on second. Geno has balled knocked down at line on 3d

3d drive: Horrible throw on 3d down but Decker jumps and reaches and makes nice catch. Jets in redzone Geno takes to long and gets sacked on 2nd. Screen pass for minimal gain on 3rd. FG good.

4th drive: Red zone 1st down hand off. 2nd short pass in flat. 3d ball batted down at line. FG good.

5th drive: Red zone dropped Int on 1st. Run on 2d Nice crossing pass for TD.

6th drive: After TO near midfield. 1:14 on clock. 1st. Rolls and eventually runs no gain. 2d missed Kerley over middle high. Awful throw. 3d heavy pressure throws away meekly into a pack of defenders. Foolish decision.

7th drive: 3 and out. On 3d and 2 rolled right missed Amaro in the seam. Behind him.

8th drive: 1st down misses TE high on 1st. Another awful throw. Red zone opportunity. 1st play rolls left awful decision awful throw. Int

9th drive: after Bears punt to 44 with a personal foul moves it up to the 29 we have first down. Run. Run by Geno to 12. Run. Screen to the 3. Run by Geno for loss. FG good

10th drive. 1st down screen. 2d direct snap to CJ. Converts 3d down to wide open TE shirt cross. Just outside RZ on 3d throws short pass deflected by LB. Bad throw. FG good

11th drive: 3:10 left in game. 1st down own 20 dropped Int. Bobbled and dropped. 2d run. 3d bad pass dropped by diving Kerley. 4th converts easy 2 yd cross to Amaro. 1st run 2d takes to much time scrambles right runs out of bounds LOSES 2 YARDS. This kills me. Throw the ball away don't lose yardage. 3d short throw left seam WR makes a nice run to Bears 21. 1st down Screen for no gain 2d scrambles right throws away. Holding defense 1st deflected by DB. 2d short throw in middle for 4 yards. 3d throw to left misses badly 4th throws it complete to Kerley but to deep and caught out of endzone. Game over

Not impressive. Bad decisions. Bad throws. Balls knocked down. Balls deflected by DBs. Direct snap. Vick sighting. RZ struggles. This is pretty much what I saw in the Lions game as well. Geno Smith is a bad QB. I'm not convinced Tannehill is the future so you can't label me biased but he is light years ahead of Geno Smith.

I'll add Nick Folk has been money for me in FF.

To be fair, Geno does lead all of all the AFC east qb's in fines for cursing at your own fans. Stay classy.

Geno Smith's lack of control on the field this season has led to five interceptions and four fumbles. His lack of control walking off the field last Sunday will cost him $12,000.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports that Smith was fined for yelling an expletive at Jets fans last Sunday, according to a source. The exchange was caught by CBS 2 in New York.
