Which head coach do you want?

moot point, this jackass philbin isnt going anywhere.

edited because filter did not block my first word selection.

Looks like the college coaches are in favor again after the recent success Carroll, Harbaugh, and Kelly...

Just read a tweet from Laconfor (spelling?) Saying Malzahn is a top 3 candidate for Cleveland
If Gus Malzahn is actually entertaining NFL offers Joe Philbin needs to be packing his **** up right now and Steve Ross needs to be flying in to Alabama on an untrackable flight right now.

^^^^ This x1000
If we miss on Malzahn coming to NFL cause Ross wasn't prepared to be looking for HC candidates, I will fly to wherever he is and kick him in the dick.

Hey, the guy could bomb miserably in the NFL. But do you think Joe Philbin is so great that you wouldn't want to take the chance that he happens to be great?

I know somebody's gonna bring up a Saban comparison and his failure here. Well, as I've said before (and been thumbed down for), Saban was a pretty damn good coach here in Miami. Folks forget he took that awful 4-12 Wanny team and went 9-7 the next year. And then Nick Saban the GM stuck Nick Saban the coach with one of the absolute worst starting quarterbacks in NFL history, Joey effing Harrington.

I'll take my chances. Gus Malzahn isn't going to be stuck with Joey Harrington.

I don't even want to think about who should be the next coach until we have an actual gm that is worth a damn in place.
I would have a list that would include Mike Shula, Josh Mcdanials, Jay Gruden, David Shaw, Mike Zimmer, Tom Clements, Darrel Bevell, Art Briles
My under the radar guy would be Mark Rict who I think would be a better pro coach than college coach. Sumerlin I did not mention because he is going nowhere.

I would love Malzahn but not sure he would be able to get a good NFL staff at this point

LOVE this uniform combination in your sig...GOT TO work that in somehow next season....

(sorry - off topic)...

:-)

At this point I just want a guy who can implement a new exciting, creative offense. I don't even care if our defense regresses a little bit, we need to score more points on offense even if we allow more points on D. And if this guy feels he needs a different QB to run his offense, so be it.

I like Ryan, I really do, but the truth is this team hasn't scored enough points with him as quarterback. We can blame his lack of receiving weapons in 2012, we can blame the putrid offensive line he had in 2013, we can blame everyone, but the whole jekyll and hyde thing he has going on is no recipe for success. I'm not ready to give up on him yet, I see a guy who has potential, but he has been very inconsistent in his 2 years in the NFL.

He needs to continue working on his accuracy, not just with the deep ball, but in general. Also, his pocket awareness has been better, but there will be times when the pass protection will falter, it happens with every team, so he has to be able to move around in the pocket better. This year, our OL was so bad early on that it exposed Ryan's issues with sensing the rush. He HAS gotten better, but he needs to continue to improve.

I just don't think it's so easy to find a franchise QB that you can just give up on your young QB projects so early on. IMO when you have a guy that has shown some flashes, you need to stick with him, give him 3 years, no more. Next year, get him a better OL to improve the pass protection and the running game. No more excuses for him. Also, I would even say the need to improve our receiving corps is overrated, I like our guys, especially with Gibson back. But if you can get him one more target, someone who will fight for the tough catches, a physical WR, go ahead, it'll help.

But as I said, year 3 = no more excuses. He needs to get better, be more consistent. And that should translate into scoring more points and turning the ball over less, which will = more wins if we (hopefully) continue having a decent D as well.

Next year will determine a lot in terms of our QB situation. And at the end of the day, if he fails, well, it is what it is. Next project up. You move on. But if we get a new head coach that feels that Ryan isn't the answer, and that we can have a more productive offense with a different guy running the show, then like I said, so be it. I'm just sick of having a poor offense year in and year out.

I see people bringing up Mike Shula's name. Sure, he's done some good things with Cam Newton... That said, his time as the head coach at Alabama doesn't inspire a whole lot of confidence if he was hired.

I want Jon Gruden. I want him to bring Jay with him as OC.

If Philbin cannot, or will not explain why his team with an OC and DC that HE hired lost the last two games, he needs to go.

Ross will replace Ireland with Jest filth and Philbin with a worthless Jest former coach! FTW! How are things going in the NHL?
Miami Dolphins...What the New Orleans Saints used to be.
Edit--Sorry, guys. Don't mean to be so down in the dumps. Just read the Miami Herald article about the close ties of Mr Ross and the Jets. Got to me a little.
Anyway, what coach? Mike Zimmer or Jay Gruden.
