I know we've all made our predictions as to who will surprise us this season and who will make a big impact for us, but now it's time to decide who will be the biggest dissapointment for us. IMO, Tebucky Jones will be the biggest dissapointment. I think he is going to stick out like a sore thumb in our secondary and will be responsible for giving up some big plays in the pass defense. I really hope I'm wrong but I think since S is one of our 2 biggest needs (DT being the other), I think it's going to be magnified if he gives up some big plays because we won't have anyone more qualified to get the job done.
Ricky.

Tebucky Jones...I hate to agree with Jim Haslett but I don't think Jones is very good. We really need him to step up this year and I don't think he can.

now i do need to remind everyone...Tebucky was a FS with the saints....not a SS so from what i can see in stats....he performed well for a SS at FS

David Boston.I dont understand why fans have such high expectations of him. There is a reason why no other team in the NFL wanted him.

Wow, tough to predict without avoiding being pessimistic. I honestly don't think TeBucky Jones will be a disappointment... the first name that comes to mind to me is Vonnie Holliday, though I hope I'm wrong and hope we don't have any big disappointments.
i agree... if anyone it'd be vonnie holliday, IMO

So We Wait...

Traylor.......I think that Saban is going to regret even looking at him. He will be 36, and everybody's like, all he has to do is sit there, but I think he's in trouble. He said before he signed with the Phins that he didn't have anything left. He came to mini camp TERRIBLY out of shape. The sweltering heat is really going to limit him, and honestly I dont see how he'll make it through camp. I have a feeling that Saban signed somebody who might even be only a 1 down player. It wouldn't suprise me if he just walks away during camp and retires.

Amen, Brother. Traylor is gonna be a big bust to not only Saban, but especially us Dolphin fans used to seeing Bowens take on and occasionally beat double teams in the center.

The lack of good DT play will limit Zach Thomas' ability to get to the runner and everyone will say that he's getting old and lost a step, but what he will of truly lost is Bowens. When Gardner and Bowens were right, no team on this earth could run on us. When Chester was right, we were still pretty darn good. But Traylor is NOT an effort guy, he's out of shape and has little left in the tank. He's a body that we brought in as insurance against Bowens and Chester not being able to play. Well... Now that we know that neither one will be around (Chester's recovery is taking a lot longer than planned) Traylor no longer looks that attractive.

Maybe the supplemental draft will offer up some future prospects, but I believe only a veteran will fill our needs up front. After the 3rd Pre-Season game is over most teams will face the annual tough decision of whom to keep, the promising rookie or the grizzled and expensive veteran. We have to hope that we can pick up a DT (for the 3-4 scheme) there and give ourselves a fighting chance this year. Our wide open offense will score more points, I know it. But our new defense will allow more points as well. We might even become the Colts for a few seasons, putting up a bunch of points and losing with bad defensive plays! When you can't stop the run with the front seven you begin to scheme to get it done. One play-action pass later you've given up six points.

We need a DT that can play with Traylor and spell him. Hell, it would be great if our new DT replaced Traylor altogether as a starter. That way Traylor could just join the rotation and get 10-15 plays a game. But it won't happen. Anyone good enough to do that WON'T be released after the 3rd pre-season game.

So we wait....

I think it will be the first person to get put on the IR list.

personally i think the biggest new comer dissapointment will be someone who gets injured right away that we had high hopes for, tough to say who it will be but it most likely will be someone like that

I am gonna go with Keith Traylor. Traylor so far as been a dissapointment anyway because he wasn't in shape when TC comes and that will hurt him deeply.

K. Traylor. Actually, our entire DT position is in jeopardy right now.....

As for Safety, if we can land Schulters, we will be in good shape. T. Jones should be a solid addition. He's not known for his playing making, but neither was Knight before he came to Miami. I don't see much of a drop off from Knight to Jones. It's the other S position that worries me....

WR D. Boston has a lot riding on this off-season. It could be his last chance to ever make a comeback. He's one of the hardest players to read, you never know what to expect from him. If he can rebound, and play at his highest level, he's going to be very dangerous. If he can't show flashes during the TC's, I doubt he'll be aorund much longer. We've got a couple of hungry unknowns moving up the chart, so Boston has his work cut out......

PHINZ RULE!!!
