which player u think the dolphins will regret cutting the most and why?

I think there's a fairly strong possibility they end up regretting their decisions to waive Phil Livas, Quinton Spears and Mark Restelli. Some of them could pass through waivers, maybe they'll get lucky and all of them will, but if other teams have been watching preseason tape then I think all three should get claimed.

Im going to say Lousaka Money Polite unless Clay or Hilliard prove otherwise!

Phil Livas. He could have given Miami something they have not had in a long time and that is a true threat each time he touches the ball. Field position is everything.

What is particularly head scratching is they kept 6 WRs. No reason not to cut Wallace and keep Livas.

Polite by a mile.

As sketchy as the Oline play is, we will need solid blockers out of the backfield to compensate, particularly a fb lead block on the second level.

Do you really want Bush taking on the first LB through the hole?

I also wish we kept LJ. But a lot of people are saying he could haveprovided vet leadership and tutor Thomas. Why can't Bush do the same for him?

Will Allen..He looked at if he still had it..If Vonte or Sean go down we're a hurting.

My only guess is the way thomas ran the last preseason game made sparano and co. think it was okay to waive LJ... that 28 yard td run LJ had is something I never saw out of ronnie brown. LJ just moved in and out of defenders and actually looked like a rb who ran with some vision. I don't think he was touched the whole run, and he easily sidestepped 2 or 3 defenders.
livas I thought would have been exceptional if even just on kickoff and punt returns. I think we've taken one to the house once or twice in 15 years.

spears is the guy I really did not want to see waived. Take this with a grain of salt, but he really did remind me in ways of wake. HE is no wake, so plz don't get all excited that I compared the two. But especially that last game, I thought he was a beast. In the backfield making plays. Would have liked to develop him for a year and maybe someday had a spears from one side wake from the other combo for folks to gameplan for.

I must have missed that part of the preseason. Sorry, have to disagree with you there.

It's hilarious how some of you become emotionally attached to some of the
most mediocre players. Phil Livas??? Lol.

The thing about Livas is that he is very solid on returns. Usually when you have fast guys like that, they're missing the mental part of the game. Livas made some great fair catches that saved us field position. Not to mention if the guy finds a crease, he's gone. Not only that, but he had the speed and quickness to be a development WR prospect who would be scary in the slot. Not saying he would develop, but he has more upside than Wallace.

My only one is Will Allen.

I understand if it was for injury concerns. But if that's the case why not waive him sooner? I mean, it in no way was for his performance. He played great the last 2 games. So why did we keep him so long? I know we didn't have to cut him till now, so we had a chance to evaluate him.

It just seemed like he regained his skills and didn't look to have health issues.

It to me just seems odd when we have the Pats and other teams who are gonna be employing spread offenses against us.

I truly hope it's just to save the money on a guaranteed contract and we will resign him after the first game.

None, we upgraded or remained the same at every position. IMO we didn't backslide

IMO cutting Spears will be a mistake I know he won't be able to crack the staring lineup but I feel just coaching him up for a year will be beneficial for the phins. Won't be surprised if he gets picked up.

It is funny how many posters preferred allen over sapp and carrol
and will Allen was at the top of many lists as one this regime would regret cutting the most..

And now we cant even get 3 yards and a cloud of dust when we need it..

I don't know if any of these guys got claimed but I still can't believe that they kept Culver over Restelli. Culver contributed NOTHING in the loss to the Pats and the secondary was horrible. Yes, I know that Benny Sapp took the fall for the entire secondary but the real culprit in this mess was the coaching staff who chose the players that they kept. They decided to keep Sapp over Will Allen who really showed in the Cowboy game that he still has some game left. And now they are righting their wrong by re-signing Allen.

GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME!!!

PS -- I just ran a Google search and evidently Restelli did go back up to Canada where they were thrilled to get him back. Not only did he play a very strong and physical defense (according to what I read) but is also a very strong contributor on special teams. I wonder why he did not get the chance to play on special teams when he was with the Fins?
