Who do you think will improve the most at the quarterback position? The criteria I am using are players that have started last year and have not established themselves as solid starters. This is somewhat subjective in that I don't have David Carr on the list because I believe he has established himself as a legitimate starter whereas Joey Harrington has not. Some will disagree but then that's the fun.

Alot of people like David Carr, but he hasn't done anything all that impressive. He is about to enter his 4th year. So his leash should be getting shorter and shorter and the pressure tighter and tighter. I posted Carr's stats below.
THE QB I think will improve the most SHOULD be Harrington. With the recieving corp he has and the system he is in, if he doesn't get it done this year, then he needs to be replaced.

**Edit** I mistakenly had said Carr was entering his 5th season, when in fact he is entering his 4th.

# 8 David Carr
Position: QB
Height: 6-3
Weight: 220
Born: 07/21/1979

I picked Harrington simply because of the weapons he has to play with. This is his last year to prove himself and I believe with that group of receivers and running backs he will finally arrive. I do think Feeley will improve dramatically from last year but its his first year with Linehan where its Harringtons 3rd year in the system

I like what Carr has done with what he's had. Could he have done more- maybe. I agree with the fact that this is Harrington's last year to prove himself.

Hmm out of that list... Well Simms, McCown, and Rattay almost definitely won't be starting so neither of them. I'm not suite sure why Brian Griese is on that list, in my opinion he had a great season last year and they TB will be very well off if he could perform like he did last year so I don't expect great improvement from him. I actually think Drew Bledsoe should be on that list over the guys I mentioned, and even Dilfer and Boller too. Boller actually would be one of my top choices but out of that list I would say it's between the first 5 and out of those I'm going to have to go with Joey Harrington because this is his last chance to step up and he has no excuse not to with all the weapons around him. So my votes goes to Harrington, even though I will not be surprised if Garcia beats him out for the starting job or takes over.

Actually I probably should have added Carson Palmer and Kyle Boller. Bledsoe isn't going to improve at this stage of his career so he didnt make the criteria. Griese might have topped out but I'm not sure on him yet

I think AJ has the most upside potential...I also think Eli Manning will get better but he will never be as good as Peyton.

I think it'll be Patrick Ramsey. He's looked reportedly looked very good so far, and I think he will be the Qb who has a Drew Brees like breakout season. Boller will improve also just because he actually has some decent WR's on his team now.

with adding palmer and boller, i'd go palmer. good progress to date, second year starting, great weapons to work with, he'll have a break out year.

Eli Manning and Rex Grossman because I think they have more natural talent than the rest of the list.

The Bears are a better team and Grossman should be ready.Keep in mind he has only started 6 games because of injuries.

I like Ramsey. I think he might develop nicely. I'm just not sure about the rest of the offense yet. Boller will be interesting to watch just because he will finally have some receivers to throw too and he seemed to be coming around last year. Grossman looked like he was developing before he got injured last year. The funniest article I read this offseason was one where the 49ers receivers were saying that Rattay thows a better ball than Alex Smith.

I took Harrington simply because of the weapons around him.

Carr, Boller, Palmer and Roethlisberger weren't included in the list because in my mind they each established last year that they are legitimate starting QBs. In retrospect it's too early to proclaim that Boller and Palmer have arrived but I believe they each will be starting for the next five years plus. The list above is QBs who are in danger of being transitioned into career backups if they don't perform. Eli will almost ce3rtainly be given another three years to prove himself and he probably will improve greatly this year. The rest though could all be warming the bench in 2006 if they dont produce this year

Rex Grossman will be the most improved if he can stay healthy.(That is a huge IF)
