I selected Philbin because it means if he is the coach next season the Dlophins got it together and made the Playoffs or came close.
Anything less than that and he likely will be gone.
As for those on the list, it would be Harbaugh at present.

I have to say I agree with your comment about Philbin.

I don't understand the love for Harbaugh, I'm not sure the 49ers have gotten better from the team he was handed, I would say they are worse. Also aren't there rumblings about him losing the locker room?

Sumlin might be the hottest prospect now so maybe him.

... Dude, Harbaugh was handed a 6-10 team and took them to: NFC Championship (lost a close game), Super Bowl (lost a close game), NFC Championship (lost a close game).

He did this with a scrap heap QB everyone had given up as a bust and a borderline moron who can't read a defense. In other words, you're saying that you don't want a coach who took an underachieving team with a 'bust' QB to come to Miami and try to turn around our underachieving team with a 'bust' QB?

This list is just far too depressing to consider... Retreads and unknowns. I'm not a fan of retreads, and I don't trust Ross to hire a competent unknown.

Harbaugh. But I don't think Jim will be available. If his brother John left the Ravens that would be my second choice. Count me in as a guy that would look very close at Gus Malzahn and Mark Dantonio. Both are excellent coaches with one a strong offensive mind and the other a helluva defensive coach.

However, the most important hire will be the team president. Ross has to hit a home run with that.
