I think Philibin will show Johnson the door. If that happens, who are the five or six receivers who make the final roster? Does this mean Gates and/or Pruitt makes the team?

I think Pruitt makes the team whether Johnson is cut or not. If he is, I see it like this:

Hartline
Bess
Naanee
Wallace
Pruitt
Moore

PS:

Matthews
Cunningham

Let Fuller, Gates and Hogan go, although I wouldn't be mad about a PS spot for either of them

in no particular order: hartline, bess, nanee, wallace, gates, pruitt, ps: cunigham, fuller maybe, and mathews.

Cuningham has a shot to make the 53 man roster. His "style of play" is perfect for the WCO

As of right now, I think it would be Gates that would stick with the potential departure of Johnson/Naanee/Hartline and wouldn't stick without it.

I think Pruitt makes the team whether Johnson is cut or not. If he is, I see it like this:

Hartline
Bess
Naanee
Wallace
Pruitt
Moore

Aka no one who's ever caught more than 50 balls in a year outside of Bess.

Bess- 11 career TD
Hartline - 5 career TD
Naanee - 4 career TD
Moore- 1 career TD
Wallace- 0 career TD
Pruit- 0 career TD
Gates- 0 career TD

Make of that what you wish.

I think you'll see Matthews on the roster instead of Moore in light of his KR/PR abilities, but otherwise I agree with your assessment. I also could see Hogan on the practice squad. I think Fuller just has too many problem with drops to keep around. Gates hasn't shown he can play or stay healthy, so IMHO he'll be one of the early cuts at the position.

A lot can change between now and the start of the regular season but my picks to lock up a roster slot at WR are Hartline, Bess, Naanee, Wallace, Pruitt. We'll probably keep Moore or one of the rookies for ST purposes and keep another one or two on the practice squad.

Bess, Naanee(good job refs on missing his only catch the other night..:D), Hartline, Wallace, Moore and Pruitt... I wanna see if those three have it or not they have flashed it the last few years let them play and see what happens

Good point rob19 about our lack of proven receivers but it is what it is and if no one else is added i say Bess , Naanee , Hartline and Wallace for sure.

Specials team contributations will decide the other 2.

Pruitt has some skills there. Gates or Mathews can return kickoffs. B.J and Fuller or Hogan to PS.

Hartline
Naanee
Bess
Wallace
Pruitt

PS: Cunningham, Matthews, (Perhaps if Matthews continues to look good at KR, we keep 6 WRs on the 53?)

Cut: Gates, Fuller, Hogan, Moore

I really liked what I saw from Wallace and Pruitt Thursday, and I think they should make this team if they keep that up. It's not pretty, but I think we'll have to settle with what he have. One bright side is Reggie will be a great receiving threat in the new offense, and our tight ends have looked solid.

Why are people saying Marlon Moore? He's been here 3 years and hasn't shown anything.

Bess
Hartline
Naanee
Wallace
Pruitt

Those 5 are certs atm. All dependant on the last 3 weeks of pre-season for the final spot. Matthews might make it in for his special teams.

I don't know why Hartline's spot is so secure. Philbin did not draft him, and he has done nothing on the practice field up to this point. I think that they should have taken Braylon Edwards when they had the chance. Did you see the catch he made last night? I would unload Hartline and keep another one of the youngsters to develop.

This. This is the five I would go with if only five spots are kept. I could see a scenario where Gates makes it as the 6th receiver since he is the only one who can threaten and open up the field with his speed.

Just realized that Chad with his 67 has more than 3X as many TD's as every receiver on the roster combined.
