Horrible season so far, may turn out to the worst we have ever experienced as Dolphins fans. This got me to thinking who is worse at their current job, Tony Sparano or Jeff Ireland?

I had to go with Jeff. Sparano is pretty awful too, but Jeff seems completely clueless. He just keeps trying to throw pieces together without any real plan for how it will all work out. He also seems to love blaming everyone else. Every failed draft pick is now Parcells fault. The team not winning is Sparano's fault. I think people do not like Ireland and we will miss out on good coaches and players because this guy is a prick.

I have never heard Jeff blame anybody.

Ireland by far. I'm not a big fan of his drafts such as drafting linemen and not play makers. I don't like how he keeps signing Cowboy rejects or other team's trash expecting them to all of a sudden become play makers for this team. It's different from New England who sign guys that have something to prove. He never signs any big names in Free Agency, but instead gets mediocre talent. I would have fired him the second they passed on Matt Ryan.

I haven't heard him directly, but from the reports that Ross is confident in him and that he believes that some of the bad picks were Parcells picks leads me to believe somebody is whispering in his ear.

I hate talking about the same crap over and over again, don't you?

I've looked through every thread. There's just really nothing interesting to talk about besides Luck and cleaning house. It's not like we can have conversations about how we can make the playoffs.

Sparano by far.

This team is not untalented. And some of the talent we have had brilliant careers before coming here. Thats coaching, or lack there of. Ireland goes out and gets one of the most dynamic players in the NFL in Reggie Bush. How does Sparano use him? By pulling him off punt/kick returns, doesn't use him in the open field often, and instead expects him to run the ball down opposing teams throats.
Ireland grabs Marshall for a very fair price. And yet, once per game we will throw a fade pass to Hartline in the endzone instead of Marshall.

They both deserve to be fired. But this team is alot more talented then it was 5 years ago, and yet we are in position to repeat that disaster. Why? Coaching.

I picked Ireland. The talent level is garbage. Vince Lombardi would have a losing record with this cast of misfits.
Sparano put on a pair of shoes that were too big and he has done the best he can.

The swing vote goes to Ireland for passing not just once but 3X on one of the most pro-ready and talented QBs to come out in the last several years. Mallett, both whose parents are educators in TX would normally have been a top 5-10 pick and likely the 2nd QB to go if not for largely unsubstantiated rumors and innuendo that jettisoned him into the bargain bin. Again Belicheat demonstrated that he's a big hitter while Ireland is still playing off the ladies' tees.

how do you know the mallett stuff was "unsubstantiated???"

how do you know it wasn't, or if it was, it was more than a tempest in a teapot? Seemingly more egregious documented honesty, ethics and family crap throughout Newton's career didn't stop him from being no.1 pick. Belicheat needed and still needs defensive help but unlike Ireland he was smart enough to recognize an exceptional opportunity when it came a'knockin. :idk:

guys that physically talented i can tell ya they don't last til the 3rd round unless there's some serious skeletons in the closet...belichick when he has a brady has the luxury of taking a chance on that pick given he had what like 7 picks in the first 3 rounds this last draft and a franchise qb already in house...it was a luxury pick for them...its very telling to me at least that 32 teams despite the qb position being such a premium passed on a 1st round talent almost 3 times before beli pulled the trigger...
