I have heard alot about who we might pick after tomorrow? But who might we get rid of? Hmmmmmm I really don't know who might go.

We won't be cutting anyone tomorrow because he have plenty of cap room. Everybody(media included) has said that we won't be releasing anyone tomorrow.

Some possibilities are, Larry Chester, David Bowens, Lamar Gordon, Travis Minor and Timbo. Those are probaly the only "big name" players you will see gone.

I think David Bowens is the most likely. Though he proved he can play last year (he wasn't a pro bowler or anything, but he wasn't horrible), his contract is huge considering his ability.

pat kirwin said on nfl total access that david bowens may get cut...hes in the last year of his contract and i think hes scheduled to make 2.25m...he played well for us last year but with all the d ends we have hes expendeable...especially if we can get another safety, cb, and lt if any get cut...

Why would we cut both Timbo and Chester? Why would we cut Gordon?

Gordon, no. If we cut any DT it will be Timbo because of his back. Minor is more than likely gone, and is David Bowens. Another guy who could get cut is Jeff Zgonina, but that all depends on what we do with our current DTS (will we cut Timbo, and/or will we go after one that is cut)

I will actually be very suprised to see David Bowens cut tomorrow. Kevin Carter will probably be seeing a lot more action at DT this year then DE. Matt Roth will back up Taylor. Holliday will be the starter on the other side, but if we cut Bowens, the main backup there would be Flemons. I think we will keep Bowens through TC at least. I would be suprised.

Who Will We Cut

I think the team should look to trade David Bowens. With 5 1/2 sacks, he has trade value -- although it might be a low pick (5th or lower). Still, with Roth and Carter on the team I don't think Bowens will see a lot of playing time.

As to the cuts, the first names that come to mind are Taylor Whitney, Travis Minor, Yeremiah Bell (talented, but can't stay healthy) and Tim Bowens (probably will retire). There will be some surprises as well, maybe someone like Wade Smith if he doesn't show anything at center or Moore at linebacker. I like Moore, but not sure he fits what Saban is looking for at linebacker.

I agree. I think we should definitley let David Bowens test the trade market. I would rather keep him or trade him(even if it is a 5th or 6th rounder) then just cut him.

As for the names you listed in paragraph two, that is a good list, for late August cuts, but not June 1st cuts(tomorrow). I don't think anyone will be let go from us tomorrow. People do keep saying David Bowens, but I believe is cap hit would be the same after June 1st as it was before June 1st.
