Computers do not factor in human emotion. Emotion such as the Fins playing tight and the Jets playing free and easy.

Yes and losing as a 75% favorite doesn't necessarily have anything to do with player emotions, **** happens. If you don't believe that cut a deck of cards and have your wife chop your junk off if the card is a diamond, all of the coaching in the world won't change the fact that it WILL be a diamond 25% of the time.

Huh?

I can't understand why so many are really confident about this game. We cheer for a team in which 6 of it's 8 wins were 1 score games and one of the 2 others was by 10 but wasn't put away until the 4th yet so many predict blowouts. It's mind boggling to me. The fact that we blew out the Jets in the first game to me makes it less likely that it happens again considering how rare it is for us to blow out anyone. The Jest were without Kerly and Homles in the first game who are both better than the garbage they had out there and Cromartie was getting killed but looked very gimpy and probably should not have been playing. Much like Buffalo there strengths play right into our weaknesses as the Jets can run and we can't stop it and they can get after the passer and we can't block. It's good that the Sam Brenner experiment was canned because he was getting mauled inside vs the Bills and I would expect the same vs the Jets. Also, so the game is at home since when is that a big advantage? Now the Fins are capable or winning this game but I expect a dog fight and I think our offense will sputter again keeping the Jets in the game. If I'm the Jets I cram the football right down our throats early to limit turnovers and not make things easy for our offense. I'd be content to run, run, run, Punt until Miami can prove they can move the ball consistently. This is going to be a tough game we've lost to garbage QB's in the past so it's not impossible to lose to Geno Smith.

Diamonds, cut off junk, coaching....I am confused. Anyways, lets see how close the computers are on Sunday at 4pm.

Its OK, you simply don't understand simple math (as illustrated in the quote below), I'm not an expert at reading the flatness of teams at the beginning of games and would love to be able to trust your expertise on this matter but how can I knowing the math thing?

Only the Fins can take 50% plus Vegas odds to make the playoffs and blow it.

My confidence is waning guys. I'm beginning to feel the Fins will find a way to mess this up. I'll be a wreck by tomorrow. Rebuild my confidence..please!

god dang lbs...playbook showed this week our dts getting doubled our 2 lbs who play every down ellerbe and wheeler being free and somehow these two nit whits dont fill the proper gaps and make a damn tackle or sniff it out off the double team of the dts from the jump...they are freaking clean and doing nothing...

what a horrible free agent makeover job we did here...freaking bills doubling our dts and the lbs are slow as hell to read and react and attack the los...

Any given Sunday, but I like Miami to win this one. Here's why:

The Jets are 1-6 on the road and 6-2 at home. Miami is one of the two teams that beat them at home -- in fact, dismantled them at home. New York has been blown out in most of those road losses, too. Rex Ryan has fared poorly against Miami in his head coaching career, and particularly against Joe Philbin. The Dolphins have stomped Rex's Jets twice under Philbin and took them to overtime (thanks Carp) in the other meeting.

I don't think the Jets can exploit Miami's weaknesses the same way that the Bills did.

Objectively, I agree with the 27-13 or 27-10 predictions. Everything in this matchup is in Miami's favor. However, I will not discount a chokejob here -- I will not be surprised if the Jets somehow pull out a win. To lose this game would be the most Dolphins thing imaginable.

Our defense will shine - especially the backs - with the bulk of the scoring. Our quarterback and running backs will move the ball with ease, and (also) our special teams will give us superb field position; and possibly, a kickoff return for a goal.

I have a strong vibe that all scenarios will result in our entry into the playoffs. And if that indeed does happens, with all positive energy and focus atuned, Dolphin Nation will go crazy! I am talking street riots - the celebration kind.

Geno's (and Tannehill's to a lesser extent) inconsistency is what scares me, Geno is a terrible QB but he can play good for stretches.

i bet the jets are gonna double our dts like the bills did with the inside running game...i wish i felt like these lbs would do their jobs when that happens...sad thing i dont know that all the film study in the world could change anything with it

but if they aren't prepared for it this week they never will be
