Give Tannehill one more chance to show something. Maybe the threat of losing his job will light a fire under his ass. If not, Moore gets an extra week to prepare with the first team for the Packers.

Tannehill. You know what you've got in Moore.

Optimist's view: You still have hope that Ryan Tannehill develops and takes the next step as he settles into the offense.

Pessimist's view: You think Matt Moore has a better chance of saving Joe Philbin's job.

You do?

Tannehill has 35 career starts. How many does Moore have?

How do you not know what you have in Tannehill after that many starts but, at the same time you are convinced you can write the book on Moore?

i'm interested in jameis winston...but that's about it...better not win more than 3 games if you want a shot

Tannehill ... I don't care how bad he's sucked. He gets three full years.

Based on what? That is nonsense.

It is not like he was elected to office or something and gets to serve a term. He is a football player. Playing time should be based on merit. Since Tannehill was drafted, Matt Moore has out performed him as a Dolphin.

And why does Tannehill get 3 full years but, Moore does not?

They need to ride out the season with Tannehill know matter how painful it may be at times. We know what Matt Moore brings to the table.

That is a thought that has crossed my mind. Problem is there is no Andrew Luck coming out.

We now also know what Tannehill brings to the table.

Moore is 6-3 as a starter in his last 9 games. He looked good in this offense in preseason. I mean why not give him a shot?

It is an absolute certainly we are going nowhere with Tannehill. His awareness in the pocket has become laughable.

i think this is the most likely scenario if there were to be a change, though i could also see moore starting the 2nd half if RT has another bad 1st half.

I'm a pretty big critic of Moore, but his problem is consistency, not that he is incapable of playing at the level of a starter. I've also preached patience for Tannehill from day 1 since he didn't really get a full college career as a QB. But he is regressing at this point. If he can't put together anything resembling a solid game in the first quarter of year 3 then I don't think the rest of the year is going to do anything for him.

Winston? GTFO! Just what this team needs another .10 cent head! Besides isn't Publix one of our sponsors?

Yeah, I think we do. I think Matt Moore is a guy who is going to go out there and say "**** it, we'll do it live." And then he's just gonna rip that sucker regardless of what the coverage or game situation is.

There's something to be said for that. Confidence and emotion are part of football, and that's a great attitude to have. But Matt Moore is not a great thrower of the football, and as you are one to rip on Tannehill as a sack taker, consider this: Matt Moore's career sack/dropback ratio is worse than Ryan Tannehill's.

You read that right. Matt Moore was sacked on a greater percentage of his dropbacks in 2011 and 2012 than Ryan Tannehill was in 2013.

the book has been written on matt moore...there's a reason the guys a career back up...and it's not bad luck lol

Tough question. What this boils down to is the staffs real feelings about Tannehill. If they still think he can become a franchise QB you ride it out for the season. If they truly don't believe it may as well make the switch now. We could very well win a low scoring game vs the Raiders and it could be just the fools gold needed to waste more games on Ryan Tannehill (waste assumes they don't believe in him). Also better to get Moore acclimated vs the Raiders going into a bye week then the better competition that is coming down the pipe. I am not happy with the way Tannehill has played and unsure I believe he is a franchise QB. Philbin has been working with him for 3 seasons, he shouldn't be unsure, he should know. He needs to trust what he has seen and know to make this decision. It's a no brainer either way:

1. If he sees Tannehill as a franchise QB who is slumping in a new offense and not getting any help by the guys around him, you play him. No questions asked.

2. If after 35 games you know he's not your franchise QB, make the switch, unless of course you think Matt Moore would be worse.

I admit I'd like to see how we look with Moore's deep ball. I concede we'll get more stupid plays from Moore but likely also get more points. That could only be the difference in losing games 45-31 instead on 34-15, you never know.

Matt Moore.

And I say that acknowledging the fact that you're not going anywhere with Matt Moore, but he'd be at least more entertaining to watch at this point. He'll most certainly get more chunk yardage in this O than Tannehill, with his woeful 5.8 yards per attempt. He'll activate the most dynamic offensive weapon we have in Mike Wallace, and you'll see some nicely placed deep balls on some verticals. He'll go out there and sling it....for better or worse.

I want to be entertained. Not only is this team mediocre, they're boring.

Tannehill. I would start him the rest of the year and draft a new QB or 2 next draft. No need to buy fools gold in Matt Moore and use high draft picks to "build around Moore". I honestly feel this team is ready and do not buy into Moore being a savior. I don't see EITHER QB taking this team to a conference championship which is a problem because I think the rest of this team is ready for such a game.

Tannehill.

But I think he needs to improve greatly or we need to draft a QB early in the 2015 draft.
